Yeah, it's pretty difficult at times... But after 8 years of marriage, I've come up with creative ways to make it memorable for her Unfortunately, I've yet to be able to throw her a birthday party Her family all live about an hour away, and they all seem to think that the highway only runs one-way. I was surprised when a couple of them actually showed up for Christmas dinner

Ouch. That can be difficult. All his family (well 95%) live in the same town (yes, can be fustrating ), so we never have that problem. Maybe you guys can all meet half way or something? My issue has always been with dividing the two--I want him to get a seperate B-day celebration--without Christmas influences. But honestly, I don't think he would care either way. Typical man.
So you guys did Christmas dinner, huh? AWESOME. How was that, horribly stressful?

(Morning, everyone)
I'm sure you have, but my brain hasn't managed to process much after the extended weekend You'd think "The Fish" would have been more helpful with jogging my memory, though

Hmmm... Maybe BabelFish doesn't have a grasp of Japanese very well...
I've been quite busy around here, as you can see... Wonders what the combination of no life and not having to work for a couple days can do!
"Mirage"
LOL!! I'm trying super hard not to....This is one addiction that's hard to break.
Well, don't give up. I'm rooting for ya! "Ganbatte yo!"
Hehe! Get a stuffed animal or something--then you can rant and rave at them. Luckily I have a dog so I talk to her like she understands EVERYTHING. Sometimes she tilts her head a little to the side and I swear it's like she knows what I'm saying.
I haven't had a stuffed animal.. in forever! I used to have two cats which I had to give up because of medical problems. Allergies are weird, sometimes...
OR you can just come on here and rant. That's what we're here for!
Yeah! since about half the time, people ignore me, anyway...

I always buy her something extra-nice and make it a point to wrap it in birthday paper Plus the dinner and dishes and cake...
We had a good Christmas dinner. We decided not to worry about who showed up, and we actually had people show up

*blush* Sorry guys, I'm trying to figure out my damn iPod. When the hell did I get so old that I'm now one of the folks that doesn't undertstand the newfangled technology?
Kage, I'll ALWAYS pay attention to you ranting. Only if you promise to do the same for me.
Mute, I'm glad to hear things went well for you guys. Luckily of the family, couples-wise, we're still the youngest AND in an apartment, so hopefully the holiday dinner thing wont happen to us for a while.

During the first week or two that I started coming here, I would connect through the computers at work... They stopped letting me do that, though... bastards can kiss my butt...

Hehe... Don't own one, so can't help
Dinner's not so bad when you just decide that it's not worth begging anyone to come. If they show up, great. If not, more for the rest of us

Hehe... I control Internet access here, so I don't have anything to worry about

.... You sure about that, Mirage, dear???
I can get pretty vocal aboout stuff when I'm ranting about it. I'm talking paragraph after paragraph....
I'd listen to you regardless of whether or not you listened to my ranting, Mirage.
I understand the importance of a good rant. No matter how you get it out, sometimes it's just nice to GET IT OUT. Never fear, I have no problems listening to that kind of stuff. I'm an excellent listener (and an excellent talker if you haven't noticed )!

I'm freaking fustrated. Something's on there but I don't know what and I don't know how to get rid of it. I mean, it's only taking up a tiny sliver of space but still it's annoying me to no end.
That's the best way to look at it. Throw the fact that you're having the dinner out there, and whoever jumps at the bait, cool. My only issue is the cooking thing. I'd get feeling all inadequate like I wasn't making good enough food for everyone.
I'm going to teach myself how to make sushi! Either today or tomorrow! I don't have exactly everything to do it...but I have enough to try and make 2 different rolls. ^_^
What ever happened to that girl BA?
BA Tells Lies.
Some things are secret for a reason.
There are people whose lives are dedicated to keeping them that way.

I'm sure it's something simple... Did you think to disable the "Annoy Mirage" setting?

My wife does all of the holiday cooking... She swears she loves my cooking, but that's only because she loves me... I'm a lousy cook Normally, she has a few side dishes that she relies on during the holidays. But recently, she's gotten tired of doing the same sides every holiday and has started to try new stuff off of some of the recipe sites out there. She never goes straight off the recipe, but everything has been excellent so far We've had a couple different friends comment at different times that she needs to start a restaurant, she's that good (and it explains my weight gain since getting married )
