I'm pretty sure I see the reflection of the street lamp in the puddle at the bottom!
The Twin Dilemma seems like it's it! Woo hoo!

Here's all I could do to enhance the 5th book image:
Maybe that helps a bit. Oh and I know it's settled and all, but I'll post this for the 4th book anyway... just so I can pretend I didn't waste my time
Original cap from Dejajeva, cropped and blown up:
Enhanced and annotated:
Sorry if those are a bit heavy to load. Didn't want to use jpg and lose the little detail there was.

doesn't look like it to me. i see what you're seeing, but if that were so, other parts of the cover would be standing out as well.

Yeah, page 17 explains what confused me initially-- but I definitely see it now.
Anyway, for the Twin Dilemma:

The reflection is in exactly the same spot... everything matches up really well, it has to be it.

I see a mans face along the side of the unidentifiable book

I'm going to agree that this one is Password to Larkspur Lane. I can see Nancy's hair/face, her yellow dress, the position she is standing in, where her hand is, the mansion to the right, the lighter clouds above it... and part of the old woman's face. The other part is covered with that side of the red circle. Also, the spacing of the words matches.
As for the other one... I took pics and will post my thoughts momentarily.

i still am not convinced that twin dilemma is right.
And does anyone else think that maybe there is something on top of the fifth book obscuring part of the left side (I mean besides the packaging). If you look in the enlarged version, it looks like the first letter isn't connected.
Maybe there's abook between the fifth book and the packaging and thats why we cant find one that matches.

I think that's a street lamp, not a man's face actually. It's exactly where one of the lamps would be.

The reflection is in exactly the same spot... everything matches up really well, it has to be it.
I think I see the "D" in Dilemma, too. Two short words on top, a longer one on the bottom.

i really do not think that's it. especially if it was created in 2005 and everyone seems to know this is an early edition series. plus, the more that i look at it, it doesn't match up. the water reflection isn't even the same shape. its wider at the top in the unclear one.
and it's REALLY dark, seems much darker than the twim dillema would be.
of course i could be wrong but i just don't see it.

the 2005 thing is making me mad, i dont want to accept it as a possibility

Really though, it's really damn close-- it could be in Daniel's shadow.
There is nothing else that comes nearly as close as The Twin Dilemma-- and I'm almost certain that's the reflection of the street lamp.
Look through here, if you can find something better in any edition of the original 56:
