its not either. i personly like to see the good guys get beat down till they are almost down and out but like a phoenix, rise from the ashes to over come their opsticals.

The next best thing would be Bree reluctantly agreeing to do The Ceremony, but then at the last minute going all Rambo on their asses!

There needs to be Ceremony, but they have to leave a plot open that will intrigue everyone enough to stay tuned.

That seems to be the consensus around here, Skunkwaffle started a thread to that effect in plot discussion. His suggestion was that once we get the ceremony behind us the next plot arc could be Jonas searching for hes parents, and I would add Bree as well.
