Im a sad bunni.

*pets her sad Bunni*
Sweetie you can go onto the ABC website and watch the episode there. My mom fell asleep and missed last night as well, and that's what she did. However, I don't know how long it stays up for...

Welcome to the discussion! Ever since I saw that smokin' avie I hoped we'd get to see you in here.

I agree. The third season was really going downhill, especially after that horrid Jack episode. But they've been steadily getting better and better. And while I don't think Lost will ever hold that magic for me like it did for the first and (part of the) second season, it's slowly building up to almost as good.
thought the interactions between Kate and Jack were cute. And Sayid telling Alex about her mother. Danielle obviously won't take the initiative, so I think it's Alex's turn to step up to the plate and start asking questions about her mother dearest.
I can't wait to see if/when she asks Ben about Danielle! That will be interesting to see how he responds.
Ben is scaring me more and more lately. He obviously knows much, much more than he lets on, and he's able to manipulate people into doing whatever he wants them to. But the whole thing about how Locke isn't in a wheelchair anymore (the island healed him), and Ben still being in a wheelchair...I think that was the first time we got to see Ben doubting himself. And I liked it!

Word. I cannot stop expressing my love for Michael Emerson or the job he's doing playing Ben. It would have been so easy for the writers/actors to go down the stereotypical "evil villain" route but Benry still has such a humanity about him it's just really fun to watch. That's why I think it'll be really telling about in which direction his character is going to go with the whole Alex/Danielle situation. Does she even know Danielle is alive? And will he admit it to Alex? On one hand, he admits it--this option seems to be a more singular, fatherly thing to do and one that "Ben" would make instead of "Ben, leader of the Others". Him I would expect to lie about it. Then again, like I said, does he even realize Rousseau is alive? And when/if Alex tells him, will he be shocked, pretend to be shocked, or deny the whole thing? Please please please PTB do not let this story fall to the wayside.
djmadscribbler wrote:I have to a say it - I loved this episode. It's probably one of my favorites which is no great feat since Locke and Ben are two of my favorite characters. Terry O'Quinn did a fantastic job (I especially loved the "You're not going to talk about the box again are you?" scene).
Someone was saying on another board that this would definately be an episode that TO'Q should send in for an Emmy consideration. It was really striking, because Island Locke has been getting on my nerves for a little while now (seemed to be loosing his S1 island sage/hunter appeal), but Pre-Island Locke absolutely broke my heart. I agree with all the Ben/Locke love--they have wonderful chemistry together.
Also, I think you're on to something Mirage. That would definitely fit the character connections theme and also Locke Daddy fits the M.O. perfectly. Good call!
Thanks babe!

It never occured to me before (though in hindsight, it probably should have) until last night whenever Locke and Dad would interact and the word
con
was thrown into the conversation several times.
Oh, Leaven:
Step One--cut a hole in the box
Step Two--put Locke's daddy into the box
Step Three--have Locke open the box.
Edit: D'oh, I completely forgot to mention this--
According to
THIS website,
1) The dude pushing Ben in the wheelchair was the same guy who was trying to hire Juliette.
2) The whiskey that LockeDaddy offered Locke was McMacCutcheon Whiskey..the same whiskey that Charles Widmore was drinking, and the same one that appeared in Saywers stash that Desmond drank with Charlie.
Second Edit: W..T...F....please disregard all the does he (Ben) even realize Rousseau is alive, cause, after all, he WAS stuck up in her net. Welcome to the dumb ass Mirage show!
