They said that CiW wasn't the route they wanted to go once the Tate murders pictures were included. Can't say I blame them either. That was a horrible event that left a lot of people emotionally shattered. It's not like the Creators are stopping CiW's creator from coming back and doing something else with it. Again, at least this way we get CiW included as canon in a manner of speaking.
