That's pretty gauche, spacie, but it's downright moderate compared to some of the gaudy displays of non-demonational John Three Sixteeners:

This is from the Solid Rock Church in Monroe, OH, just off I-75. I swear, I get physically ill every time I see it.

If only I had a camera...there are some doozies around here. My house is just...normal...my mom's too. Just ya know...hedges...some ivy crawling up the brick. Clean, nice wicker furniture on the porch without anything strange. Next door...they have a lady with a dressed up goose.

On purpose? Sounds like a great performance art project.

In your neighborhoods, are the Blessed Virgin statues displayed in shrines made of bathtubs cut in half? Maybe with Xmas lights around the edges? They were in the neighborhood where I grew up.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! You're from NH?

That makes me think of the HUGE cross erected in front of a Fundie church not too far away. It's so big they had to put one of those flashing lights on top. It has neon letters that say JESUS on it. We call it the church of the neon jesus. I don't think Jesus would want a huge cross with his name on it...that's just me.

whoa...that is deep.

I really do like mine. I would have it in my house..and not even in a stupid punk-rock, ironic way either. But..I make no sense.

"Kitsch causes two tears to flow in quick succession. The first tear says: How nice to see children running on the grass!

The second tears says: How nice to be moved, together with all mankind, by children running on the grass!

It is the second tear that makes kitsch kitsch."

-- Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being

I love kitsch as well as camp. :D

Ya'll are rockin' like Dokken, btw.

 I have daydreams of buying my first house and astro-turfing the living room..and having one of those resin toilet seats with poker chips and cards in it.

edit- Of course..you're talking to a girl who has this little scene right next to her bed:

I'm so boring...I have a mantle with a mantle clock in the center and on each side matching wooden vases with cool looking dried flowers. Uhh...on the wall some painting thing....and a shelf with...some random decorative chests that Troy got me for some reason. He thinks that I like wooden boxes and chests. I dont' have the heart to tell him I could give a crap about them.
