If there was some advertising in this video it would have been really subtle. They didn't even mention or show the Bellagio's name, which nobody asking for an ad placement would go for. Name recognition is the name of the game when it comes to marketing. If nothing else, make the audience recognize your name - even if they don't remember what it's for.LolaJC wrote:are we going to have to see this not-so-subtle advertising in every video?
Nope. Down south.AM wrote:OT but Lurker, don't tell me you are from around here? As in the NJ/NY metro area.
Me too. Thanks.mellie3204 wrote:I think they are definately going to implement the private vid idea they've been batting around for a while (Sorry Lurker!:) ).
Well, people might see the water display and think "That looks cool, I must find out where that is". Kind of a non intrusive advertisment, which nudges some viewers into exploring sites about the hotel, while not irritating people who find ad's..well..irritating in their series'Lurker wrote:

Especially because this is something that the audience can/will watch multiple times, they'd want their name in there, even if only on a sign.
Sorry, but no. That's just not the way the advertising industry works. Lurker is right -- getting the name out there is kay.Anto687 wrote:Well, people might see the water display and think "That looks cool, I must find out where that is". Juli, she already tried reading the thread and had difficulty understanding the concept. I understand her confusion, because I haven't been able to follow it either. I would also appreciate a clear and simple explanation -- there doesn't appear to be anything in the LGPedia that explains the idea in a few sentences or paragraphs.longlostposter wrote:Ummm...read the post above yours.Wisi Girl wrote:Well, I managed to read through the first four pages but it is so late and I can't read anymore. I only have one question for anyone who has the patience to answer me:
What on earth are private videos? How do they work and how will I view them? I am so lost.
P.S. I apologize if this was already cleared up but, like I said, I didn't read the entire thread....
Thanks!
One thing I think people are failing to remember is that you can be totally disgusted by the actions of people who are authority figures in a particular religion, while continuing to believe in the tenets of that religion. Think of the distinction between Catholicism and the priests who molested kids.longlostposter wrote:I think Bree has just had that purity thing pounded into her brain so much, that she can't leave it behind. Excellent point...this could complicate things...Misty wrote:I was pretty surprised when Bree said she didn't want to "sin".
Does that mean she still believes in the religious teachings of the order? Do they even have a concept of sin and what do they consider sinful??
Or did Bree suddenly convert to some other religion??

Have to say Juli, I'm usually a Jonas gal, but... is DB getting cuter or something? He seems really really eyecatching in this vid! I'm starting to see your point!!
I see it all the time as well Juli, and it bugs me too. I suppose its like my dad used to say when I was acting and auditioning.longlostposter wrote:Pfft...some people are never satisfied.curiousGeorge wrote:I think this is an excellent metaphor for the series as a whole. The most appealing thing about this series has always been the personal interactions and/or revelations between the characters. When the c's try to add "drama" things just appear absurd and forced. No doubt in my mind that this is due to budget restrictions, but the budget restrictions are a reality and they just need to face up to this cold hard fact and should stop doing things that they can't afford to do.
I had no problem with the chase scene, other than they seemed to evade whomever was chasing them too easily (maybe they didn't evade them?).
CG, I know you know as well as I do, that whenever there are a series of the personal interaction variety, posters start screaming, "We need some action", or "Can we see something like 'The Human Ransom', or "Bring in badass Tachyon".
The point I'm trying to make here, is that the Creators can't please everyone; I've also noticed there are some particularly fickle posters who ask for something, and then when they get, they're still not satisfied.
Oh, well, such is human nature (unfortunately).
Fair enough, I know not for the advertising business, I just thought it might have been a subtle subtle (yes, two) ad.Languorous Lass wrote:

Too bad, because I'll bet the Bellagio has some bucks to throw around.
I still think it's advertising. They showed a lot of it. Jonas even panned the camera over to it as he was running away. Besides, if someone is looking for a hotel in vegas, it'd be pretty easy to find that one without knowing the name. Really, just google "vegas hotel water show." The Bellagio comes right up.If there was some advertising in this video it would have been really subtle. The creators would tell us if it was advertising.LolaJC wrote:I still think it's advertising. If there was some advertising in this video it would have been really subtle.
