Kelly, I am not going to state my own political views, as I don't personally think anyone's political views (let alone my own) are important to the topic at hand.
All I will say is that whether or not one supports a war, any war, it is completely possible to support the people who find themselves fighting in it. Folks at the front lines don't have politics, to my way of thinking - they are, simply, people...and people, regardless, need to be supported.
Please give that to your step-brother, without the color of politics involved. Let that part of things remain behind. You can talk to him about that part of things when he gets home, if you choose.
