Grandma is the big one here, as well, though I've heard them called (on either side) nanna, nanny, gram, grammie, memaw, mawmaw...all sorts of odd things, lol!

I don't think it will turn out to be a grandmother. I think she would have been much more likely to have taken Jonas in than some close, aunt-like friend or a young aunt that had a lot of traveling to do.

Just a thought
I thought of that too. With an Aunt out there, why would he live with his nanny rather than a close relative when his parents died. Odd.

Or maybe it's like somebody said above, she's a traveler and was too busy to keep up with a kid.

Not everyone wants to be tied down to a child. A younger, unmarried woman with a busy career investigating the Order just might not want the responsibility. Especially if she had suspisions that his parents had been killed for getting too close to the truth about the Order. She might have feared for her own safety.

Maybe this is another member of that group that it seems his parents were a part of. I don't believe its a blood relative. Jonas was raised by a nanny, why wouldn't he have lived with a relative after his parents disappeared?

I also have another theory that this house is a safe house for the Anti-Order, but Jonas doens't want to say that on camera.
^^what you said.
Safe house = owned by family friend/member of anti-order?

That, and he may not have wanted to leave his house and she may not have wanted to leave hers.

I really don't think Jonas not going to live with her would be that weird even if she is his mom or dad's sister.

And then, as somebody else suggested, this might even be the nanny.

Absolutely. I don't think it's that big of a mystery that Jonas wasn't living with her. I think there are a myriad of reasons why he didn't.

Though I do like the idea that the "aunt" actually is the nanny ( I posted that one, lol!). That would explain everything very simply.

And as she lives in a smaller house that Jonas' big ol' mansion...perhaps she is the nanny, who is retired and Jonas put up the money for her little house, which is why he feels so comfy breaking into it.

Good thinking, silvermoon. That sounds like a reasonable possibility if it's her.

My opinion

I think:

- No matter if the aunt is blood related or just some friend he always called "aunt"- she means no harm to team LG15
-She has their fiancial records because she settled their affairs when his parents died, and he never wanted to check out his parents old IRS returns so he doesn't have them.
-She is very likely Anti-order , or his parents would have never let him know about her.
-I think his nanny was anti-order and some kind of operative.
-I think he knows more about the Order than he says but that the LG15 creators spent too much time making hin "nice" to mess with our head like that- they didn't even want to continue the series, I find it SO unlikely they'd made him a double, triple (etc) spy.
-I also don't think him not living with her makes her evil, I think she had a tought job in the anti-order and didn't want to drag a kid into it.

It's spelled like nanny, but the way my family always said it was nOn-ee. I was told it was something italians called their grandmothers, but my parents could be very wrong since we are not italian (one part of my family is).
This is incorrect. I am Italian and we call out grandmothers Nona or Nana...if not grandma. Close though!! :smt045

Heavens, maybe his "aunt" is the nanny!

Another possible theory that would lead into why he was so comfortable going inside her home.

I know some people who call their Grandma "nanny"..so it could be so this way too.

pretty unlikely that his grandma is that close to them in age though. again, maybe close family friend?
