People in the order don't have very many possessions. Just look at Bree and Gemma's rooms!

Why would you expect teenage girls to have tons of stuff?

Bree's parents had all kinds of crap in their house.

If the cabin is a vacation retreat, then there wouldn't be much stored there.

I think it may be that Jonas is just thinking that there might be more evidence there because the symbol was found at the cabin (as someone before me said).

A telescope could indicate an interest in astrology?

Ohhh, you don't know my family. Pack rats, the whole bunch of us. We'd fill every nook and cranny of every available space. We'd keep buying stuff we thought we might want to use someday at the cabin, and then never using it, and then buying some more. Plus if we wanted to clear out space in the main house, but didn't want to bother going through the stuff stored there, someone would inevitably say, "Let's just take it down to the cabin and then we can go through it later." And then we'd never go through it to throw stuff away.

I used to be a pack rat, but I had to give it up.

When Jonas' parents died, most of 'their' stuff was most likely put there for safekeeping. If Jonas is part of an anti-order group, he would know that the cabin is safe---which would have been the reason he took Bree/Daniel there. Also, does anyone remember all the papers around the foosball room? If Jonas is also part of a group 'investigating' the order, then those papers would be his, and not his parents. I wouldn't be surprised if the cabin was used for meetings with these anti-order members as there appears to be plenty of commodations for at the least several people. Its not unusual that his parents research was moved from where he lived after they died.
