Sorry, too many windows at once. This looked like an op thread and I didn't know there was confusion outside of op with who was and wasn't canon. *shrug* if there is confusion then absolutely a sticky under the character section. Just don't expect any word on Nikki in there. ^_^

I tend to agree that a confirmed canon characters list could be helpful. I've seen a number of users - especially new users - start a thread about itscassie or someone in the Plot Discussion and then, when it's moved to the Fanfic or Cassie area, start another one in Plot Discussion for fear it was overlooked.

Agreed that it's fun not knowing for sure. After all, we didn't know about Gemma, Jonas, or OpAphid until they were confirmed, but many folks followed them. I think if a list was prefaced with that explanation and the encouragement to follow and discuss non-confirmed characters in the fanfic section, it would satisfy people and help new users. And, of course, point out that if another character is confirmed as canon, the discussion area would be moved.

We have a new users area planned with a number of FAQs, and I think this could be a helpful addition.

I don't know, I like the idea of a list. I'm sick of people talking about itscassie and frankiswaking in the plot discussion area, and it will help newbies.

My idea is because people are using CIW to influence their theories on the LG series, and the fact is CiW is not a part of LG, therefore people should know not to look their for clues.
I think this is something that we need in the plot discussion area because the newcomers are getting confused.

The Plot Discussion are is for LG15 Plot Discussion
FanFiction area is meant for FanFiction plot discussions.

We NEED to keep them seperate to prevent any further confusion

its jsut a simple list like this:

CANON:
Lonelygirl15/Bree - Canon
DanielBeast/Daniel - Canon
JonasTKO/Jonas - Canon
Gemmers19/Gemma - Canon

I think the non-canon area would also be helpful in the area of discovering new characters as we would only post creator confirmed canon/noncanon characters.

I think it would be great if someone would map out the Breeverse, and how the different Vloggers relate to each other.

I would also like to see the various Vlogs being catagorized as:

1) originating with LG15 team
2) created by others by given canon status by LG15 team
3) not cannonized to date but consistant with the official breeverse
4) outside the Breeverse, commenting on it from a real world POV
5) spoofing the Breeverse
6) contradictory to the Breeverse but attempting to be part of it.

But, I think though the LGPedia would be a better place than the forum for that

Though a sticky over here either reproducing or redirecting would go well with that.

I don't like this idea. I think it's ironic that people complain that it's too long between vids when they refuse to watch fan made vids that are no more than 2 minutes each because they don't want to concern themselves with non canon vids.

Being placed on a non canon list would essentially tell people it's ok to ignore those vids. I realize it seems more and more fan vids are popping up and it's hard to keep track of them, nevermind decide which ones to follow. It's my understanding that in the future they will be presented in a way that does make that decision easier. The Creators had said there would be YouTube style character profiles- maybe there will be a field that states canon/non canon although I hope we can come up with better terminology that isn't so black and white.

I suggest we hold off and refer people to the lgpedia until then.

I understand your point, but I hope it wouldn't stop people from watching videos if they understand what they are...

The problem I see is when someone posts a thread in the Plot Discussion or Video area about, say, itscassie or Dr. Immant. We move it and tell them it's not canon, and they say "how do I know that?" or "why did you move it? I think it's canon!" Similar to the forum rules and guidelines, I think it would help to be able to point them to a place where they have that information.

Maybe it would be all about how we present this information...
