exactly.

we need to start setting the record straight. we need a list as a sticky to state what is and isn't canon and relevant to the story line because A LOT of people are getting confused.

Why is that? It's not hard to see who is canon, just look at the forum...it's made clear.

To know who is canon...just look at the In Character Discussion area. Either someone is canon or they aren't. There's no grey area...even when a new character is introduced it doesnt' take long for them to be "verified" as canon and moved to the canon area. If you are watching from the cassie spinoff or the fanfic section, then it's nothing to do with the storyline...just some fanfic.

*edit* I know it's been said ad nauseum...but the LGPedia is a big help in this as well.

listen. we KNOW itscassie isn't canon. we know that for fact.

it just sucks when people ahve to go back and clear up confusion and retrace steps and ignore miss leading information that potentially ruins their idea of the plot of the show.

That's what I got too.

We know that Op and Tachyon are canon. Op has made several videos about Cassie. The whole conversation in the swimming video was about Cassie. Keeping these things in mind, I just don't see how it's realistically possible to not acknowledge that Cassie, in some form, is a part of this story. Perhaps her significance is that Op heard the conversation on the swimming video, and tried to use the Cassie thing to frighten Bree.

Thinking about it, that doesn't really make sense either. There was no need to frighten Bree before she refused to do the ceremony.

Op has made Cassie a part of the story in some way, there is just no denying it.

While I'd like it clarified that itscassie isn't canon-- largely because I don't like it-- I don't think it's particularly problematic that she's influenced peoples ideas any more than it's a problem, say, if my opinions influence someone's ideas.

It is kind of annoying that people keep saying "but cassie said..."

but fanfic ItsCassie is NOT canon. this is the pointw e are making. ItsCassie is a fanfic Cassieiswatching is also a fanfic. The creators have state this already.

The thing is is that if people are using the fanfics to influence their theories, they could be using misleading information from the fanfics that show that their theories are not solid and not backed up by real clues. Therefore, somewhat misleading and confusing.

The Creators have clarrified that (as of now) itscassie isn't cannon.

Yes, the character of some random, unknown Cassie is a part of the plot, but it has nothing to do with itscassie, cassieiswatching, itskassie, or cassielivesinmypocketwithabunchofgnomes.

I think some people are mixing the two up.

All I can say to this is, I remember the vehement, repeated statements from the Creators that Op was not canon. Therefore, I don't listen to them when they deny anything is canon.

It simply misleading information for the newcomers to the forums.

And as vetrans of the game, we can not use misleading information. They need to know what is canon and what isn't.

My idea is using a,ist to clear up any confusion as well as stating, this is what videos you need to look into for clear informative clues.

the creators NEVER stated opaphid wasn't canon.
they only stated that CiW isn't

Personally, I'd love it if itscassie became cannon. I sort of think she's earned it, with her obvious dedication and hard work on her fan videos.

But, until the Creators actually come out and state that she is cannon (whether they are leading up to it or not) she is still fanfic, and doesn't play a part in the actual storyline.
