I actually thought she was doing well with keeping to her own story while keeping in line with what was going on in the canon story until her last couple videos-- her cheesy mimicry of "Miss Me?" I thought she was doing decently well for her own thing, but those last two just made it seem like she was desperate for acknowledgment.

I definitely don't think she's doing anything wrong with her interpretation of Cassie's story-- she was taking it in an interesting direction. My criticisms are my criticisms-- I'm not bashing for no reason. I'm not calling her ugly or stupid or anything irrational like that, I'm saying the writing, specifically, was really bad--like that one line. It's not like I haven't admited it when she did something well.

People kept bashing her wig, for example, and then she got rid of it-- the entire thing benefited immensely from that.

Point taken. I agree, she should concentrate on telling her own story, she has a pretty good following already.

PinkoLady- You make some interesting points about itscassie's interpretation of this character. It must be difficult to take a character and fill it in, especially considering the CassieisiWatching hype and followers (I would bet that there are still people in Second Life waiting for CiW to come back...or that there is some online support group for people still hooked on the CiW.)

I do wonder about this director's intentions with her Cassie. I wonder if she was using the wig to be silly at first, then noticed how popular her videos were becoming, and began to get serious. I think it is easier to create a parallel story that does not necessarily rest on needing acknowledgement from the original production to continue. I am interested to see where she takes this character in light of the the shift in lg15's story.

Good call on the wig. I like itscassie and have watched her since she began posting in a wig. I must confess (with shame) that I have made a few thoughtless remarks about the wig myself. It is easier for me to watch her without the wig. But this is not about the wig, damn it. It is about different people's views about someone's videos. I think it is okay for many of us to disagree about itscassie. In the words of DanielBeast (all pepped on OpAphid): It's all good.
(except for that wig on itscassie...eek...I mentioned it again...my apologies... )

It just occurred to me that cassieresurection is not itscassie. Therefore, everything I wrote should be applied to the other cassie not this resurrected cassie. *sigh*
