the bree-daniel-revenge theory aside (i don't daniel could be that cruel), i don't get the motive for making the order beleive that they have daniel and soon will have bree. i can imagine the conversation going on over there:
"hey, this thing says we have daniel"
"really?"
"yeah, and we're telling him to tell bree to do the ceremony. and she's doing it!"
"oh cool. we didn't have to do ANY work on that one!"
somehow i just don't see it happening

I once considered the Cowboy-as-Brother theory, but am now doubting it because of recent OpAphid revelations (such as the phone message). Unless Brother told Daniel his plan, sent him to the Order (who directed him to contact Bree), and consequently Daniel sent the message asking Bree to participate in the ceremony. But really, Brother and Daniel (and Tachyon) plan to ambush the Order from the inside once Bree arrives, and the message was to fool the Order into thinking that he was cooperating. After all, the Braille message in the video leads to a phone message for Bree, asking her to contact him after the ceremony. Why would Daniel encode the message within the video unless it was supposed to be secret, and not to be heard by anyone but Bree? So, Daniel could have a plan. Either Brother has told Daniel that the ceremony is not quite as bad as we think it is (and thus Bree can safely meet up with Daniel and Brother afterward), or Daniel and his new friends plan on ambushing the Order during the ceremony. Anyway, that's a theory.

we know Daniel HAS had contact with Tachy.
Who says Tachy was the only one he knew? He IS a smart kid...

It's both; the message changed about 3 times in a VERY short amount of time.

I remember reading that (I was unsure of the original wording), but this is the one the Creators settled on, so this is probably the only one we should be considering.

Well, now that Daniel's safe with Bree and Jonas, perhaps he can tell us who the cowboy is. If he remembers.
