No one forces people to watch, or to pay the big bucks to go to the games. The crazy thing is that people ARE doing it of their own volition. The teams are making tons of money because there are tons of people CHOOSING to pay. That means there is an absurd amount of money being made in this industry. The players get that much money because fans are paying it- you can't blame the sports guys OR the teams. No one is forcing anyone.

I'm not blaming anyone, but it is ridiculous how much money they get. I don't care how you slice it. I mean if I were a giant young dude who was good with balls, I'm sure I'd take the money if someone was offering it to me. It's not their fault, but the emphasis on entertainment/entertainers in our culture is fu*king stupid in my opinion and the amount of money they get compared to how much we pay teachers or nurses for example is completely out of control and undeserved.

The forcing I'm talking about is with soccer. If they're gonna pay Beckham that much money, I'm sure they're hoping to spark up more interest in soccer here..so their investment pays off. I don't think it will happen, but what the hell do I care? I'm not paying him.

Sorry too- it is obviously very difficult to show intonation in a text message. I rarely get pissed off, just passionate. Guess I'll re-read my posts before submitting to see if they come off the way I mean them (I suppose caps as emphasis are not always a good idea- I'm learning.)

I am officially "one of those crazy people"- I just bought season tickets to LA Galaxy. Beckham won't be there in the beginning of the season, but he'll definitely be there some time during the season.

It's not really out of the blue- we go to a lot of games anyway. This way, we'll be assured tickets. I love soccer!
