An extra bumpish comment:
IF YOU USED THE RINGS I POSTED EARLIER TODAY (12-14):

If you used a decoder ring...I suggest remaking it considering Tach's newes hint about "cypher". See other thread.
Then again...I'm a newbie so what do i know? LOL

Break thru!
The wheel is part of a cipher.
The key is 112, E was in brackets
So I set the inside 1 to the outside E - so 6 = 5
I set inside 1 to outside E again - B = 4
I set inside 2 to outside E - 3 = 4
Repeat the 112 patern
At the moment I mangled the back half and got
TESTär!!
Edit: It's TESTär!! after taking it from hex to text
Edit the sequal: The outside ring is the movies the inner ring is lovelines

tiltingwindward wrote:Using the [E] and 112 hints, we found this pattern. For the first two characters, we matched the outer ring E with the inner ring 1. For the third character, we matched the outer ring E with the inner ring 2. By repeating this 1-1-2 pattern throughout the puzzle, we found this (decoded from hex):
TESTING 1 2 3
This is the end, for now. I will update more as soon as I know (and understand) more. As always, if I've made a mistake or forgotten something, let me know and I'll fix it.

One more thing that is important. Because the decoder ring only works for 1-F and not 0, when you get a zero you leave it a zero, but that doesn't count towards the pattern so it matches as follows:
Code: Select all
6B36676B38B2B2E03EE03AE033
112112112112112 112 112 11
I built a translator that you can use on the web:
