There are 12 files within the "373a3135" folder. 11 of them are gemma vids.. you can view them by adding ".mov" to the end of the filename:

1c = "Nut Kills Man"
1f = "Living In London"
4c = "It's Not Your Decision"
6b = "They Disappeared..."
6d = "Horrid Flatmates"
6f = "Learning Egyptian"
46 = "Don't Trust The Authorities"
61 = "Someone's Following You"
62 = "A Watcher"
66 = "An Awkward Silence"
67 = "Scared To Go Home"

The twelfth file, named 69, seems to be a text file which reads:

Code: Select all

Xy Xy Xy Xy 20 XX XX Xy XX Xy XX XX XX 3f
-----------------------------------------
Yyyy Yyyyyyyy?
It seems to me that the "Yyyy Yyyyyyyy?" is showing the format that the top line should look like, once solved.

The file names, when decoded from hex, are:

Code: Select all

1c 1f 4c 6b 6d 6f 46 61 62 66 67 69
=
       L  k  m  o  F  a  b  f  g  i
Thought I would also include that perhaps:

Xy = 1c, 1f, 4c, 6b, 6d, 6f = , ,L,k,m,o
XX = 46,61,62,66,67,69 = F,a,b,f,g,i

Hi,
I was wondering if the hex decoding formula is somewhere or is there somewhere I can go to figure it out myself. Sorry just trying to catch up on all this. Thanks!

We are still working on it :)

If X equals numbers and Y equals letters, can't it only work if those #s are split into hex pairs but in an anagrammed way (mix and match individal digits and use all).

does that get us closer?

Maybe is just means, "Daniel Is Right". That is the name of her latest video.

There is a Hex decoder on this thread

I'm sticking with "Look Familiar?" too.
I really like the " Look Familiar " idea though.
I'm going to try and explain why "Look Familiar?" does NOT work.

If you look at the first word:
Xy Xy Xy Xy

You can see that it can only use letters from the Xy alphabet. The Xy alphabet is this:
Xy = 1c, 1f, 4c, 6b, 6d, 6f = , ,L,k,m,o

Because there is a capital letter, it goes to the front.

Code: Select all

"L_ _ _"

Next, the only letter from the remaining "k,m,o" alphabet that would make sense is 'o.' No words start with "Lk" or "Lm"

Code: Select all

"Lo_ _"

It is an alphabet so you can choose to repeat letters or not use them at all. Once again, the only thing that would make sense is an 'o.'

Code: Select all

"Loo_"

Now, you end it with either the k,m, or o. Looo does not make sense so the only other possible words are:

Code: Select all

"Loom"
or

Code: Select all

"Look"
(I personally think it's "Look")

On to the second word:
XX XX Xy XX Xy XX XX XX

The first 2 letters have to be from the XX alphabet, then 1 from Xy, 1 from XX, 1 from Xy, then the remaining 3 from XX. The XX alphabet is this:
XX = 46,61,62,66,67,69 = F,a,b,f,g,i

Once again, the capital letter goes to the front:

Code: Select all

"F_ _ _ _ _ _ _"
Next, the only letters that can come next are "a" and "i" because no word starts with "Fb", "Ff", or "Fg":

Code: Select all

"Fa _ _ _ _ _ _"
or

Code: Select all

"Fi _ _ _ _ _ _"
Now we're at the Xy. You can use either "k" "m" or "o" (You cannot use "L" because it is a capital letter). Since there are no words beginning with "Fak" "Fao" "Fik" and "Fio" (I know Fakeries begins with "Fak", but the other letters it uses aren't obtainable here) it can either be:

Code: Select all

"Fam_ _ _ _ _"
or

Code: Select all

"Fim_ _ _ _ _"
The next letter is, once again, from the XX alphabet: a,b,f,g,or i. Only "a" and "i" make sense. Because there are no words that begin with "Fama", "Fima" ,or "Fimi", that have 8 letters, the only possible one is:

Code: Select all

"Fami_ _ _ _"
This is where I get stuck... the next letter has to be either "k", "m", or "o", but there are no words that begin with "Famik", "Famim", or "Famio". And you cannot use the "L" because it would go against the character mask set up for us:

Code: Select all

Yyyy Yyyyyyyy?
So, this is where I'm at, right now:

Code: Select all

Look Fami_ _ _ _?
I know this doesn't give any answers, but I was just trying to explain to people why it can't be "Look Familiar?" I think we may be doing something wrong or Tachy messed up...

I'm officially giving up on solving this one unless some new revelation comes around.

you know..i understand where shifty is coming from, bcause yea Look Familiar doesn't really work.
But it really is the best we've come up with isn't it? In fact isn't it the ONLY thing we've come up with??

because if you take it this way:

Look FamiLiar

you read it as

Look Family Liar

so if we assume that this is the case, and this is in fact the answer, to me it says:

"Doesn't this look familiar??? Isn't this the family liar???"

So assuming this, she is saying this about the videos...or Gemma.

Even if we CAN use the "L" (It would go against the character mask), and we got to "FamiLia_", there is NO "r" anywhere in this... it would then be either:

Code: Select all

"FamiLiaa"
"FamiLiab"
"FamiLiaf"
"FamiLiag"
"FamiLiai"
None of which are words..

Yes, "Familiar" would make sense, but given what we have, it isn't possible to get it.

If I see the words "Look Familiar" one more time here without a proper analysis of how you solved the puzzle to be this line, I'm gonna kill a hundred cute little kittens by dropping them from my balcony!

However, I will be below the balcony catching them.

Poor innocent kittens.

After I save the kittens though, I will join the angry mob that will be hunting down the poster.

Remember the last time we tried to hack through a puzzle without a clear answer? Let's not do that again shalln't we?

Could you please explain how you came to these conclusions mathematically (especially the Y and the R??). All I see is a whole lot of assuming, and what's that old saying...

In hex, 20=Space and 3f=?

yea i know..i under stood that

but i never actually wrote all the possibilities down and looked at them after taking a break...
but something makes sense to me right now

FamiLiab

meaning: Family Liability
or is that spelt wrong...

anyways my reasoning for this is because when ever i listen to OpAphid's latest video reversed, I hear at the beginning (...well end...) friends are liabilities. This could extend into family, or "family" ("brother", "sister"). And to me that not only sounds like something that OpAphid would say, but also Tachyon in this situation.

Soooo...
Look FamiLiab.
