To Our Amazing and Understanding Fans,
Thanks for participating in the FIRST of many LG15 interactive chats. Obviously this was a very very ALPHA test. We were completely blown away by how many people showed up… our traffic on the server spiked over 350,000. Clearly we need multiple servers and load balancing.
Unfortunately we weren’t able to launch our custom chat software. We’ll have that out soon and it should make things MUCH easier and more organized next time around.
For those of you that are upset, we apologize but all in all we think this went very well for doing something for the very first time with a budget of literally $0 (yes, we are still bleeding money from our savings accounts) and with a team of less than a dozen people spread around the country and working for free.
We can promise you that every week, your experience on the website and with the show will improve. We’re so excited that you are taking this journey with us. We are literally brimming over after seeing how many people joined in on the chat. It’s gonna be such a cool part of the plot as we move forward.
We will post a transcript in the forum (probably summarized). And, of course, we are ALWAYS open to your suggestions for how to make things better.
Thank you so much.

That was reposted. Also would like to add... sorry for everyone in the UK (and elsewhere) that stayed up late. Thanks! Understand how limited we are and realize that things WILL get better. Just think how cool it is that you are part of this thing as it emerges. We are AMAZED at how many fans we have. Wow! Thanks everyone. We won't let you down.

What? Do you want your money back? This is free entertainment, that the creators are doing their very best to make fun and entertaining for us.
If you didn't like it, don't stay up for it next time. And when everyone is talking about how great the chat was, don't complain that you didn't stay up!
You don't have to like everything, but try not to be a twit about it when you don't.

Thats true. They should make a simple page that users have to agree to upon entering.
Guests shouldn't have chatting privledges. (its not hard to sign up)
There should be just one page stating
RULES OF IN CHARACTER CHAT
1) USERS SPAMMING WILL BE INSTANTLY BANNED
2) GUESTS HAVE NO CHAT PRIVLEDGES. (CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP)
3) ALL USERS MUST STAY IN CHARACTER.
4) KEEP EVERYTHING PG.
5) STAY CALM AND FOLLOW RULES TO LET EVERYONE ENJOY THE IN CHARACTER CHAT EXPIRENCE.
I AGREE (ENTER) I DISAGREE (BACK TO MAIN)
Something like that. =P

ALL USERS MUST STAY IN CHARACTER.
completely, OFF the subject, but, how does "joe fan" stay "in character"?
in character insofar that questions are addressed to "the characters" and within the scope of asking questions/giving advice to the characters?

This is largely a repost of something I posted in another thread:
Wow. Sounds like I made the right choice in deciding to go to bed rather than try to participate.
I don't fault the creators or the technical team for trying to achieve something new, and finding that they were far less prepared than they thought. That's how lessons are learned.
For those of you jumping down their throats: please remember that this is entertainment we're talking about, and try to maintain a sense of perspective. These folks didn't screw up, say, emergency response in a national disaster. Nobody died or was seriously injured here.
What did happen: some substantial number of people (I'm not going to get into the debate about how many) were disappointed that they weren't able to get into a on-line chat with a group of fictional characters.
Those of you who stayed up until some ungodly hour of the night for the chat and missed work or college the next day: nobody held a gun to your head and forced you to sit in front of your monitor. Please don't blame the creators for a decision that you yourself made.
This isn't our last chance, people. There will be other chats. We will have other opportunities to affect the storyline. And presumably the team will be able to screen out comments like those from the poop and penis guys. (I'm definitely not sorry I missed those.)

Things I saw:
Rude, Rude, RUDE fans!
I saw fans swearing, calling the admins names, and basically just clogging the chat with complaining. They were being VERY disrepectful to the admins, who were doing the best they can. Our admins were trying to relay the conversation with people saying "I don't want a relay, I want to be IN there!" Well, complaining about it 1) wasn't helping tempers any and 2) was keeping those of us who realized that the relay was probably the best you could get from GETTING the relays, because they were clogging the chat.
People kept saying "this is not fair! Why am I not in that room?" and such. Sorry, I'm sure the admins picked you out at login and said, "okay, this person is in room 2." I'm sure it was personal. NOT.
Yet others interjected every other comment to say "OMFG THEY HAVE 200 PEOPLE IN THERE! 201! 204!" or "THIS SUX. THIS SUX. MAKE THEM COME HERE."
That was when the Admins started telling people to get over it. Because they had TRIED everything else. Even banning people, and people just came back in with a different name NOT because they wanted to try and listen, but to complain.

I think I love you, Lass. You said a lot that I wanted to say, and more.

Two points:
One, I'm a big fan, frequent poster on the forum, and I chat under "guest" cuz I'm too lazy to sign in.
Two, if someone is a big enough jerk to come to a forum just to mess around and insult the users/characters etc. using the chat....don't you think they will just sign up and do it anyway? I mean, they made sure they were around on the right day, time and website and managed to get into a chat that tons of other people were trying to get into. Chances are they will be dedicated a-holes enough to just sign up to chat.
