Ok, so that was cute and sad and sweet. I loved it, but I feel that the thud at the end was in poor taste. When the screen went black I thought "Wow, that was cute, and really touching," but then *thud*. That kinda upset me. Like whoever made it was trying to add humor to a little kiwi trying to realize his dream, knowing that he must die to obtain it.

That was soooo cute! That little tear from his eye was a nice touch....

Cartoon characters never die (except on south park).....so maybe he was okay?... :)

I thought her death was just implied -- I didn't even hear the thud.

I just went back and watched it again, and this time I heard the thud.

I don't quite get all the stuff with the rope though. Why was it necessary?

Oh, and I do scratch myself. Sometimes I even forget and do it in public.

The point of the rope and stuff was to show that he was working hard towards a goal - his actions were premeditated and he was making a lot of effort by pulling trees up the side of a cliff and nailing them down.

Ooookay. I'm still a bit confused, but the animation was terrific. And the character was sweet. Thanks for trying to help me understand -- I think I'm just a bit clueless here.

Lass, he had to nail the trees to the side of the cliff because he had no wings. The only way he could experience the joy and excitement of flight was to jump off the cliff, but he wanted it to look like it would to an ordinary bird with wings flying through a forest. That is why he pulled all those trees up the side of a cliff with a rope and nailed them there.

Does that help a little?

lass...to put it into perspective:

all that little kiwi ever wanted to do was fly through a grove of trees.
So he made a grove of trees on a sife of a cliff
and because he has no capability to fly, he jumped...

and soared through that make-believe grove of trees so he could feel once, before he died, the feeling taht normal birds get when they fly through the air through trees.

that is why it is touching. He died, doing what he always wanted to do.

Ohhhhhhhhhh.

Now I get it.

I'm sorry I've been so obtuse tonight. Not sure what my problem is.

Thanks for your patience, Pushed and Zi and Smiley.

If he can do that, then he can strap on a freaking parachute!

I like to think that the sound at the end is just a hard opening.
