We haven't been told how long it's planned. I think we'll have to wait and see...

my two cents:
if the character of Daniel is going to continue in your story...DONT FIRE YOUSEF. Replacing Yousef-Daniel with a new Daniel...will officially be the worst decision ever. Any time a show does that, it jumps the shark...almost immediately.
I, personally, don't think I could stand watching that sorta thing. It destroys the plausability that is essential to good fiction.
