I don't like being likened to an animal in a negative manner in an effort to get me to be nicer, personally. I find it insulting and rather catty, myself.

This thread is a wheelbarrow-full of passive-aggressive drivel. And horse manure.

good example

Okay, last post forgot pap,but drivel was pretty good.
Horse manure in the sandbox is more than I like contemplate...
In response to Kasdeja: not "Nice". Just respect. Only have to be nice to people you know. Not trying to be catty (may happen anyway) but hurt feelings happen too easily. Sorry,eh? Just like that Holly and Broken Kid say, I need to think a little too, for sure.
Thanks for listening though, I just worried about the dissonance between attitudes in the LGvideos and then people come here and don't feel welcome. Go figure. Yeah, life is sometimes tricky that way, but we can make it a little better. Thanks again for listening.

I completely understand the think before you post and be respectful, that's why I responded the way I did. I don't like to be "lectured" like I'm a little kid...and that's usually when I get disrespectful, because I feel disrespected myself. I just think you could have worded this differently.

I honestly don't think it's a matter of people actively trying to be mean or disrespectful. I've been longtime members of other groups, and when you start out at the beginning of a group, with just a handful of people, and grow it into something bigger, you sort of have a feeling of family and of ownership. You get really comfortable in your group and feel like you can say anything there. I think, for the most part, that is what is going on here.

I do, as a newer member of the group agree that it is really hard (as it is in most established groups, mind you) to feel very welcomed here at first. People want to play with those who they know and who have a good knowledge of the lg15 universe. They don't want to go over the theories for the five thousandth time because someone new thinks they've come up with an astonishing "clue" and "solved" the fact that Bree is a Thelamite.

My advice to the newbies to the site would be to go through and watch the videos that seem to be discussed the most and skim over the comments on the videos, the plots and the religion beofore jumping into any heavy conversations. Just have a working knowledge of the subject before you start posting (you wouldn't join a SCUBA site and ask for the members to teach you how to dive).

And keep plugging away. Eventually they'll notice that you aren't going away and will start including you in the occaisional conversation, lol! Grow a thick skin and don't take things to personally.

I can't tell you how thrilled I was when someone actually commented on a post that I made. It was like the kids at the popular table saying hello instead of looking through you.

I just got around to reading this thread, and thought I would add my 2 cents..... here goes....

This "Thelema" guy that you speak of...... I ended up befriending him. I thought he was a nice guy, and he had some interesting things to say... and I was sad to hear about how he was treated here on the forum. HOwever, I failed to read every part of those threads.. and now have done so after the fact...

He continued to whine about how mean people were here on the threads when he himself told me (yes me, lil ole cuddlebunni) to go F*** myself and said that I was not a lady. And this came from me not agreeing with his views. I was arguing the fact that he didnt like how people were making fun of his religion, but yet in turn he told me that he openly mocks christians at christmas time, basically saying they are stupid. I just thought that was a bit hypocritical. Now hes writing the OTO saying people on here are using their logos etc as avatars and he wants to get them in trouble for it... He's taking it a little too far.. and I expressed that to him and instead of understanding my opinion he bit my head off and insinuated that I know nothing about being treated unfairly. (Coming from someone who knows nothing about me or my life)

Anyways, my point is, that I dont think he was attacked.. he fought back and said some mean things as well. And just because he doesnt post anymore, doesnt mean he doesnt come on here and read every little post, because he DOES.. several times a day.
This comment isnt an attack on him, I just wanted to express that he wasnt a completely innocent party... and what he said to me proved that and it also hurt me. I even stuck up for him on here, and hell I even gave him a shoutout on my very first vlog ... lol

I think the mods do a good job at weeding out debates from attacks.
Some comments do go too far.. and we should all be respectful to one another, but that doesnt mean we shouldnt express our points of views and opinions. Debates are good, as long as namecalling and personal attacks are left out- those are unnessary.

So I agree, we shouldnt fight, but debates are appropriate.

And mr. thelemite said some pretty harsh things bout spaciegirl, but you know what.. i kinda dig her...

Incredibly long post.. i apologize.. thanks for reading my opinion

Thank you Cuddlebunni..I kinda dig you too.

For the record:
I'm pretty good at sniffing out a scumbag.
That "Thelema guy" has befriended quite a few females from the board and suddenly turned on them for not acting or reacting to him the way he would have liked apparently. I have heard first hand accounts of a couple different instances. To be fair, I was not involved in any of these instances, but I did hear the girls' sides of the story and they are strikingly similar. I did have a bit of an attitude with him, I admit...but I still maintain that he was not "attacked" ..not by me. I do like a good argument here and there as I've said before..and I understand that everyone is not as confrontational..which is why not everyone has to engage in arguments. We are adults and can pick and choose who we talk to both here and out in the world and I also agree that the mods do a pretty good job at seperating debate from flaming.
