I think what we have to remember is she may not be brainwashed.

She may have been told if she does the ceremony and she complies with everything that they ask her to do no questions asked, then it will sve someone (example: her father, if he's still alive).

However if she was "brainwashed" she was probably under the influence of mind altering drugs during the entire period, allowing for a more easier munipulation. So, under those cercumstances, Daniel will know the effects as he's been in that exsact situation.

I hope they do take it slowly and carefully like you suggest. We have no idea what's happened to her!

That is right, anything is a possibility. I was just seeing some familiarities being played out, that felt needed to be addressed.
