Maybe she just meant that she doesn't want to get drunk or do any of those things because it goes against her morals.

I throw around the term "sin" but I'm not religious by any means.

I really don't think so, they don't tend to add lines like that, particularly ones that obviously stand out so much and would have a big effect on us, without a reason.

I think they are definately going to implement the private vid idea they've been batting around for a while (Sorry Lurker!:) ).

They said themselves that continuing the way they have been leaves very little scope to storytell creatively, if they private vidded, we could get some real sides to the story happening, and get much more info and story than we have been (since the good side wouldn't be able to see the bad sides vids and vice versa, but like any TV drama we could see both, and so know everyone's info and plans).

I actually think it would be great to watch, but would only get problematic when playing ARG... it's a bit hard to suspend disbelief to play a side when you know what the other side is up to! Also character interaction would have to be extremely moderated so no-one tells state secrets to the other side. But if they controlled the game in specific ways it could work I suppose?

In any case, I'm really really interested to see how they go about doing this!

Oh and if we need to pick sides, I'm on whichever one Jonas is on!! :smt007 :smt007 :smt007

Thanks, guys. I'm familiar with Medieval Times (been to one on the west coast; loved it), but didn't recognize the "Excalibur" and assumed EdWont was talking about MT (what with the reference to "Cable Guy").

Thanks again for clearing that up.
Yeah, I've been to Midieval Times (same one referenced in the movie Garden State)but never heard of 'Excalibur' either.

OT but Lurker, don't tell me you are from around here? As in the NJ/NY metro area.

Sooooo, I slogged through all the posts so far and the consensus seems to be that most folks liked the first part and thought the "chase" scene was not so good.

I think this is an excellent metaphor for the series as a whole. The most appealing thing about this series has always been the personal interactions and/or revelations between the characters. When the c's try to add "drama" things just appear absurd and forced. No doubt in my mind that this is due to budget restrictions, but the budget restrictions are a reality and they just need to face up to this cold hard fact and should stop doing things that they can't afford to do.

As for the "no more videos" issue: Duh! I do hope that this is a preamble to them addressing the "Who Sees What..." issue. I hope that they have worked out a way to do this by now, it's really silly that the protagonists have been broadcasting themselves out for the Orderites to watch for so long. Just absurd really.

If this is what they are up to then I really think that this opens up the story for all kinds of really cool stuff. Imagine "private vlogs" by Lucy and Aunt Alex (plus of course Op and Tachy)]! I thought the last vid with Aunt Alex in it was deliciously evil and campy in a good way. Bring it!

This "mechanical device" would allow the writers to go down all kinds of avenues if they did not have to worry about the characters being able to "see" all the vids, and hence not to worry about constantly alerting the other side or their plans. It's also a great opportunity to ramp up the in character phorum threads and the ARG elements.

I am cautiously optimistic , but then again I've been "at" this thing for a long time...

Could someone explain this whole 'private vlog' concept to me? Or post a link to where it has been announced/discussed?

It's been really busy here lately and I seem to have fallen way out of the loop. TIA

are we going to have to see this not-so-subtle advertising in every video?

Does that mean she still believes in the religious teachings of the order? Do they even have a concept of sin and what do they consider sinful??

Or did Bree suddenly convert to some other religion??
Nice, nice catch. Excellent point...this could complicate things...
I think Bree has just had that purity thing pounded into her brain so much, that she can't leave it behind. I'm sure her parents made sure there was a lot of guilt attached to engaging in drinking, sex, smoking, etc.

Pfft...some people are never satisfied.

I had no problem with the chase scene, other than they seemed to evade whomever was chasing them too easily (maybe they didn't evade them?).

CG, I know you know as well as I do, that whenever there are a series of the personal interaction variety, posters start screaming, "We need some action", or "Can we see something like 'The Human Ransom', or "Bring in badass Tachyon".

The point I'm trying to make here, is that the Creators can't please everyone; I've also noticed there are some particularly fickle posters who ask for something, and then when they get, they're still not satisfied.

Oh, well, such is human nature (unfortunately).

EDIT: Spelling

huh?

Well, I managed to read through the first four pages but it is so late and I can't read anymore. I only have one question for anyone who has the patience to answer me:

What on earth are private videos? How do they work and how will I view them? I am so lost.

P.S. I apologize if this was already cleared up but, like I said, I didn't read the entire thread....

Thanks!
