I review Federal civil rights laws, help decide whether they're accomplishing what they're supposed to accomplish, and recommend changes. Also I review guidance documents and other things that are supposed to explain or implement the laws, to see if the documents and etc. are accurate. Also I write new regulations. Also I develop and present training on what the laws mean and what people are supposed to do to comply with the laws.
All of these things involve a lot of discussions and arguments with various people.
Is that simple enough?

Yeah that's simple enough for my brain to comprehend.
That seems like an interesting job.

But wow, you must be really important.

Important? Me? Nah.
But it is interesting as hell.
Anybody who's thinking about law school should remember that you can do a lot more with a law degree besides go to court.
