K, So, I was thinking about this whole situation in the shower last night; which is where I do my best thinking, really.
I agree with some of the other posters. I think that Gemma is a plant; the Order knew that Bree would remember her, she's still active in the religion (wherever she lives; doesn't matter.) She's supposed to gain Bree's trust and then influence her to perform the ceremony, or not make waves, or whatever.
BUT, I also think that Gemma's not a bitch (or maybe I'm just hoping here) and that she feels bad for Bree. She's sending her little messages in her videos, which is why there is so much dissention amongst us as to whether or not she's got Bree's best interests at heart. On one hand, she seems to be saying, "Yay! You were chosen for the ceremony!" on the other hand, she's all, "This is super serious scary stuff, be careful"
Maybe she is saying BOTH those things.
Or maybe I should stop thinking in the shower.

Most importantly, how is the dog going to factor in? How come there's no in-character chat to talk with the dog? Does the dog have a myspace?
(Sorry, couldn't resist!

)
Noticed she didn't have the dog...only a picture. The dog was part of the last ceremony.
that is why bree was picked for this one because of her connection to the dog.

I still can't figure out where anyone's getting the impression that Gemma is saying that Bree should do what the Order wants or that she's trying to help them.
I think some of the things she is saying contradict the idea that she is in on it with the order but I think the first half of the video says that she should go along with it. "Your not taking this seriously enough." Its not up to you. To me that says hey snap out of it...you have to do this if you want to or not.

Lurker, I agree with you, and I think you've presented your arguments in an extremely well-thought-out way.
Guess we shall all find out before too long . . .
Hey! If Daniel was supposed to go over to Bree's today, how come we haven't gotten a new video yet?
And why has Bree's birthday been ignored? Since the creators went to the trouble to put up a MySpace page for her, and to post a specific birthday for her on it, it seems like they might have slipped up by failing to acknowledge the day.

Maybe that's what Gemma's warning Bree about - the order's getting ready to use the Persuasion Device.
Run Bree! Run! They're warming up
The Persuasion Device!
Sorry - just couldn'resist that one.

Gemma: Score Zero
I whole-heartedly agree! Jess is such a natural, but Gemma is trying way too hard and is NOT fun to watch in any way. I hate this new addition to the cast, she's the Dick Sargent of Lonelygirl UGHH!
LOL I totally agree! I can't stand Gemma. Her voice grates at my nerves, she's scary looking, and she's just a bad actress!

I find her rather pleasant....now did Bree heed her advice or not? I would say no....

More thinking...at the end, when she says "It's your decision" I think that she means it's Bree's decision whether she wants to try to tell them that she's not going to do the ceremony or not.

Yes I totally agree! If she has left wouldn't that make her be a little more apprehensive talking about the religion? Especially if she still respects it, just doesn't want to be involved, or something like that.
