Likewise, here... Spencer looks to be a really good addition.

The lead-in for him has been well done, and this video makes his being new at vlogging believable (having the webcam drop was excellent  ).

He's very likable... and his "dry wit" adds a layer of complexity to the character and puts a bit of a cast on him and what he says so he isn't cutesy.

His saying that his dad never discussed his work with him could be the dry wit (without the "gotcha!" -- at least not in this vid), or he's outright fabricating, but I don't believe his statement. :-k
It would be believable if his dad hadn't said to Drew "Who knows, maybe Spencer can mentor Bree"... Spencer would've had to be clued in at least somewhat.

Is no one else reminded of a "dryer" Mark from Empire records? With the, like, kind of eager smiles? I don't see any of those other guys, but I totally see Mark . . .
And did anyone notice that his employee-of-the-month page talks about his specilization in rybozymes?

Yeah for one 'blendedchaitea' did -- page 7 of this thread I think.

Spencer's mention of that is kinda why it's a no-brainer that he discussed his dad Isaac's work with him...

you dont know that though.

spencer could have learned all about ribozymes on his own and it is just a coincedence its the same thing his dad specialized in.

either way we should show him the notebook and ask his opinion

bloody coincidence that, then...

Agreed! There has to be something that will trigger his willingness to be "bothered" by all this.

i hope that there is something in the notebook that will bother him and make him uneasy and want to help

I think he's adorable. He has great skin - but of course, what would you expect? I want my complexion to be as smooth and creamy as Spencer's!

He inspires me to run out and buy Neutrogena® Illuminating Whip Moisturizer SPF 20 which delivers ultra light hydration for luminous skin! (Plus, the whip sounds like fun - bet Taylor would get into this ;))

yeah, the notebook seems pretty key, ineed it does. The problem is, getting it into viewable form without the Order or HoO being able to see it (scratch web-posting)... and presenting it in a way that he can't just brush it off or procrastinate... looks to me like another road trip coming.

I wonder about Spencer's mum... the "mistress" said that Isaac stayed with her for 'very complex reasons' but mostly financial. Maybe she's another insignificant "background character"... but maybe she's HoO and Spencer could be convinced to help her get free from that mid-suck by helping Bree.... :-k nah, that's stretching it.

hahahha that almost made me laugh harder than the first 45 seconds of this video....

....and honestly, after seeing what happens to everyone who tries to help bree & company [ya know, lives being ruined, running from watchers (what ever happened to them anyway??), general bad stuff] I wouldn't want to help them either. I think the reaction was really honest. I liked it.

Wow, he really is nerdy. I thought they'd go for the more "nerdy, but doesn't make it too obvious" approach, but then I realized that's basically Daniel. At least their mixing up the personalities so no one is a clone.

I married an introverted, nerdy dork (who nonetheless is handsome and looks like a combination of Daniel & Jonas, and who has learned a lot about social skills and how to dress like a normal person since we got married ) I then gave birth to two little clones of DH. And I can tell you that Spencer's response is absolutely in keeping with how people like that react when they encounter strangers who want to get them involved with something unfamiliar or different: "Hello, nice to meet you. NOW GO AWAY." If they don't have any social skills yet, they leave off the "nice to meet you" and "hello" parts.

Also, they tend to have some obsessive-compulsive tendencies, which would explain the color-matched decor of Spencer & his apartment. Maybe.
