I'm dreadful at learning languages. Did French at school but never really enjoyed it.

Yeah it's quite good fun, although not greatly useful!! People in the East End of London do actually talk like it though, so it pays to know a few bits and pieces....

Actually, a majority of the people that work at the resorts and tourists spots speak enough Spanglish that communicating isn't too much trouble. Between the two versions of Spanglish, you can usually get what you want.

hmmm i can speak portuguese, english, and spanish pretty well too...
last year i went to madrid with a lot of friends, and we were in line in a restaurant to ask our order, i was the first one in line, and i said everything in spanish, all well pronounced, and my friends were like :shock: and then the next one was like "hm... the same thing that he ordered", conclusion: all my friends ate the same thing i did :shock:

He runs a men's shop in Knightsbridge, so I'm guessing he's got to use it now and again.. when he tried to explain it to me, tho.. he got nowhere.. my brain just couldn't process it.

same for me. i barely passed french and a week later forgot everything i tried to learn!
