Because I'm "Ms. Ambassador" here.. I cannot really talk about it much. I go to church every Sunday. In the past, I've studied some earth religions as well, though. I didn't feel like one cancelled out the other in my mind.
I love studying religions!! I'm a Christian (probably figured that one out lol), but I absolutely don't feel like I'm "above" learning about what other people believe (I hate that attitude*grrr*) even if I don't believe it myself, after all, we're all a part of this earth and should seek to educate ourselves accordingly!

You and I could have some great talks Jess :)

I was raised Catholic, in a very very Spanish Catholic family. LOL To call me the black sheep would be an understatement. But the fact my mom was the same way as you, accsepting with learning and not fighting with ignorance... she has gotten most of the family to, maybe not agree with, but atleast accsept that I am not Christian any more.

Heehee I don't know what my mom would do if I did that (switched not just talked) She's upset that I don't go to the "contemporary" service with her and my dad and I go to the "traditional" service instead! Love my mom dearly, but she is VERY closed minded ;)

I got very lucky. My mother is working on her PhD in Religion and has always had this idea that all the worlds religions are related in some way. In her mind athough I am not Christian, but believe in a Supream Being, I believe in the Christan God.

I swear my mom is a Hippy who just never realized it LOL. She is so open minded it's crazy. She wouldn't bat an eye if I told her tomorrow I was a lesbian... even though I've been with my boyfriend for 4 years. She would probibly just make some comment about late bloomer or something LOL

She's closed minded and goes to the contemporary service instead of the traditional? You're open minded and go to the traditional instead of the contemporary?
Sounds like you two have it backwards lol

Dearly Beloved, we are gathered together here today to join together this man and this woman in holy matrimony, which is commended to be honorable among all men; and therefore – is not by any – to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly – but reverently, discreetly, advisedly and solemnly. Into this holy estate these two persons present now come to be joined. If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together – let them speak now or forever hold their peace.

How cool!

My mom still can't get over the fact that one of my ex's (actually 2 but she only knew this one) is gay...and not only that, but *gasp* he goes to church lol ;) My mom loved David but I can't believe she was surprised that he was gay when he brought me an Easter basket one year with the jelly beans color coordinated to the color egg he put them in lol!!!! (I love David heehee)
