Okay, I'm a whole lot more willing to think that Nikki is going to become canon.

Two reasons: one, the connection between the "eye" symbol in the box that Nikki found and the tattoo in Gemma's vid.

And two, this information from the Wired story on LG15:

As Bree's universe expands, each new character will have his or her own vlog. Flinders can't write and film them all, so new writer-directors have been hired and paired with actors playing the new characters. Unlike television, where writers sit in a room and come up with a single script, the Lonelygirl15 team comes up with a general plotline and then sends its writer-directors out to produce independent but interconnected videos. All the characters, in essence, have their own show.

I put the most relevant portions of the quotation in bold, BTW.

Looks like Nikki's vids may very well be among those "independent but interconnected" videos the creators are blessing.

I do have one thing to say to Nikki, though:

Hon, you need to pull up your shirt. All that cleavage is distracting from the storyline.

Nikki, everyone thinks you're canon. Care to comment?

the lighting in her last video is not nearly as good as canon vids.

But the point is that different writer-directors are making these additional vids -- not the original creators. Which means that a different director may have a different lighting style.

The vids certainly aren't created by someone who's completely incompetent (which may be setting the bar awfully low, but some of the fan-created vids out there are pretty awful).

Back to Nikki being canon or not: since Nikki has apparently interacted with OpAphid, and OpAphid is now revealed as canon, can Nikki be far behind?

Interesting... Wont it be fun if nearly all these spinoffs were planned from the get go?

I like Nikki as Canon, we will see in due time!

I would actually like to request that Nikki wear more sports bras, and perhaps try to bend over more, alternating which side faces the camera.

Also, do you plan to investigate more than just Bree and Daniel? I am curious to find out where I can buy a P. Monkey (in stock), and want to know more about Tachyon's brother.

But most importantly, I think OpAphid/The Order/The Watchers are involved in a MUCH larger conspiracy than anyone has even speculated. I think that they have a LOCK on the nation's high end market for getting a ride to the airport.

Forget OpAphid, we're going to get to know them well enough based on them being the official LG ARG.
Nikki should stick to her investigation of Paul & Andrea, that sounds interesting!

Nikki should track down Paul and ANdrea
ask them if they have a rich cute lonely friend with a big empty house (who shall remain nameless)
get Paul and Andrea to hook Bree and Daniel up with that nameless person
