We're kind of doing the long distance thing at the moment, and I'm planning an eight hour drive to see him in about a month. (He's being honored in a ceremony and asked me to be there.) We were talking about the trip, and he's worried about what other people are going to say about our relationship...which makes me sad that I have to worry about what other people will think before I hug him. We were coworkers before we started dating, and our boss gave him a LOT of grief about me being in love with him (she was a really heinous @#$^). The rumor mill in that section of my campus is really vicious, and we'd rather not be fodder for it. We're also trying to take things slow, because we don't want our friendship to suffer because we're dating.
I agree with you totally Cloud! (But at the same time, I'll respect what he wants...to a point.)
He's getting what's equivalent to a distinguished service award, or a lifetime achievement award. It's a pretty big honor.
