Google ads are targeted based on text posted on the site, and seem weighted toward recent additions.
We saw the same thing last year on a forum called The Fuselage (fansite for LOST), where a large group of people had the word "tacos" in their signatures (it was a running joke at the time). One guy had a list of about twenty different kinds of tacos in his signature, and he posted a bunch of times, so the word appeared on the page a huge number of times.
Very soon, Google ads for tacos started showing up mixed in with a few from Hanso Foundation fan sites, and the reaction was pretty funny.
