Have you uff da'd today?
For those unfamiliar with "uff da", it's in Sami's signature. It's Norwegian in origin and is slang for "wow" or "drats" or various other things. Apparently it's used often in the US, but I had never heard it before the LG15 forums!
A simple search would reveal a number of forumites saying it! So I think it's time we all uff da in real life!
Today, in a meeting at work, someone gave me a new project that's going to give me a lot more work, and without even thinking, I said "uff da" and got some very strange looks!

Once I said meep out loud. My friends thought I was insane.Broken Kid wrote:Today, in a meeting at work, someone gave me a new project that's going to give me a lot more work, and without even thinking, I said "uff da" and got some very strange looks!

That was the weirdest display of geekdom that I have ever seen in my entire life.

See! You should never be ashamed to ask a question, because if you don't know the answer, it's likely someone else doesn't either!Libra wrote:BK, are you pyschic? Seriously. I spent half of the day wondering what uff da meant and I almost PMed Sami about it but I felt silly. Thanks for this post!

Who'd a thunked it would have its own Wikipedia page?

I like this tread, BK
I'm glad you're encourageing people to start uff da.
I just wanted to add the the first known use of 'uff da' on these forums where made by Chelseyrl in this tread:
http://www.lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewt ... &start=150
I was quite shoked/exited by the use of 'uff da'. At the time I had no idea it was used in America.
