Self-Moderation and You: A How-to Guide
I'm a long time reader of a group called fandom wank. This, like TWOP, ONTD and other communities, is a place where craptastic behavior by others is mocked. Accordingly they have a self-moderation policy that generally saves work for the mods. (this is not a plea to be able to be lazy it is a plea so that we may sleep, leave for the weekend, have projects due and not return to a hell hole)
This policy is refered to as eating their own. This means when someone starts acting wanky instead of mocking the wankers the board tends to jump on them. I'd like a variation of this
If someone is trying to spark drama, new or old mind you, ignore them. Do not respond to thier trolling and dramallamaing. Savy?
This is, honestly, the best thing we can do anyway. I know that while you're reading this you can think of at least 3 names off the top of your heads. If they are playing nice, play nice. If they're looking for a fight, walk away. This is teh intarwebs. This is not serious business so let's not get wrapped up in anyones need for attention and drama lacking in their lives.

Repeats what she said in the latest Wanker thread:
GUYS!!!
Self Modding Lesson the second (again a FW suggestion)
When a wanker is baiting you should say something like "OKAY!" or "Why yes, Alan Rickman IS hot." You guys get together, make a poll and pick a damn auto-response.
Perhaps "Oh Dear" Sound good??
A wanker being anyone who starts or maintains drama for the sake of drama.
You know person X has opinion Y and will die rather than listen to any thought from group Z. Knowing this then you understand that talking to them is time better spent organizing a sock drawer.
Don't be a wanker!

By troll I meant, person who won't debate you properly or who are digging up things to cause a fight. Which it did and it totally fall apart from there.Broken Kid wrote:Also recommended not to call people trolls.tigerlilylynn wrote:Repeats what she said in the latest troll thread:
