Well, Groundhog's Day is the 2nd of February, every year. (It is also a minor holy day for wiccans, and St Brigit's Day, too.) The vernal equinox (the nearest equinox to these dates) is in March (the date varies, usually between the 20th to the 22nd), so those are washes, too.
This may be nothing, but adding the month and day yields the sum of the year in both of these dates (2+4=6, 2+5=7).
4.Feb 2006 was a Saturday, and the moon was 1 day short of being first quarter. 5.Feb 2007 will be a Monday, and the moon will be two days past full. Nothing really pointing up down those alleys.

While everyone ponders about who watches the watchers, I'll see who is cleaning up after the janitors.
Hmmm. The Gregorian and Lunar calendars may not be the calendars to be referenced. http://showcase.netins.net/web/ankh/calendar1.html That is the Egyptian calendar, and it even has an illustration of the calendar found the the Temple of Denderah. There is a festival listed for 5.February, the Birth of Apep (Apophis)- I dunno if the date changes from year to year on the Gregorian Calendar.
Edited to add:
Apep, in the Egyptian pantheon, is known as 'the Destroyer', and is a patron of evil and darkness.
Apophis is one of Apep's aliases, and is also the name given to a newly discovered asteroid listed as potentially impacting the Earth in 2036.
