I've managed to avoid these problems by subscribing to the podcast. Just go into iTunes or whatever podcast aggregator you like and download it without having to load the front page at all.

Of course, if you have to meep on the comments, then that's another matter entirely.

I'm a long time veteran of IRC channels.

Basically, we're talking so easy to moderate that it's not even funny. You can implant a Java client about as easy as you can embed a video on the site.

If they want control, it takes about five minutes to read up on IRC chat commands and have it set up to ...

There's little one can do for a forum that's as open as this.

For a more exclusive forum I own, I have it to where people can only see forum "Mandatory Reading" after they register, and only after they've posted once in that forum can they see the rest of it (and "Mandatory Reading" disappears ...

I have actually done online radio before; if they need a guest host for next Tuesday, I can do it with a little help.

Just to clarify my post - I am not going to argue its merit as a vehicle for the story. As a filmmaker in the making I make a point to not criticize those who're scratching in the business from the fringe unless they ask me my opinion personally or their entire work is complete .
