im sure there are many reasons, but, if she was abducted it would give her a better reason to be mad at her "mom"

like maybe he was hired to be her body guard...like maybe by her dad..since maybe he was uneasy about it all from the beginning he hired Daniel to be her body guard and make sure she was ok.

I think 12/10/06 and various other theories about "throwing us off" is giving the creators a little too much credit. It seems more like 10/12 was supposed to be the real ceremony & given the lackluster response, they turned to the fan boards to tweak the plot and now have an unresolved plot hole ...
