by sd on 2006-10-06 01:02:44

Daniel can you post the video of the play, would love the see that
by Justapix on 2006-10-06 01:22:09

Hey Daniel, What should you do? First definitely do a bit more research. Try to find out whether any of these ceremonies that the cult has involve any danger to Bree. The entire taking iron pills and having a shot (in her "house arrest" vlog) kind of implies that blood might be involved in the ceremony. It is obvious that Bree doesn't know what she is getting herself (by her comments when you were teaching her how to drive) into so you need to find out if she may be in danger and then let her know somehow. I kind of think that the shot that she had was maybe a tetunus shot i.e. for maybe being cut with a rusty knife. Hopefully not though! I'll try do do some research and let you know what I come up with. Later, Cat

Ahh, I can't wait intill Oct, 12. :)
by Lee on 2006-10-06 01:36:32

hi! i noticed in some of bree's videos that she has a picture of a. crowley.. you know, you almost lit the candles under the pic & she stopped you!?! i think this may have been important. also in the cookie video, the numbers 10.12.06- this probably means something too... look a little deeper into that, it might help you!!! good luck!
by ich on 2006-10-06 01:51:57

so she's not a into Thelema?
by richard on 2006-10-06 01:55:25

daniel ou should totally do what sanilynx says. I realize it is a slight betrayal to her bu tit would give you the information you want and since you care about her so much maybe you'll find you like it or are willing to tollerate it since its something she cares about...
by Kaci on 2006-10-06 02:00:35

!! didnt make it into top 10 !!
by jimmykjm on 2006-10-06 02:06:13

The suspense is killing me!!! So it's a cult of some sort, hmmm well that narrows it down. Either make her a vid, kid nap her or just have her house raided. Either way at this point Bree Is being brainwashed by Lucy loveylips. Could always send her a tell-a-cake, jump out with a maching gun like rambo and take her at will. Yes I am aware I have to much free time.
by angie78gg on 2006-10-06 02:17:49

After watching the vids i realized that the writers' of lonelygirl15 intent was a social commentary on society. People judge thing that they dont understand and sometimes make negative assumptions because its different. For example, in peoples' comment about Bree's religion it has been overwhelmingly negative. People are saying "Daniel needs to save her...run Bree...its satanist" etc. No one really knows anything about the religion yet most concluded that its negative. I truely dont understand how people can think that way after watching all the vids. It seems to me that Bree is a smart intelligent girl that knows what she's getting into. I dont think she's naive. Yet people's assumptions of different is always negative. In today's society we are quick to judge those that dont conform to certain norms. We often make negative criticisms because we are afraid. Bree is gonna be alright.
by jamie on 2006-10-06 02:30:35

Ive checked on wikipedia and i guess this proves that the flowers around Brees house were a clue. Those flowers must of be lotus flowers which carry some magical powers to the hathor cult.
by pogal34 on 2006-10-06 02:34:35

omg! Daniel is an obsessive stalkering loser. Bree needs to run away from Daniel.

by Paul on 2006-10-06 02:36:36

is it just me or is Daniel acting like a little whinning bitch. would he like some cheese with all that whine.
by jeff on 2006-10-06 02:41:36

go daniel go daniel go daniel GO!! You'll have to either find out where the ceremony is, or else play secret agent and follow them yourself :^) then if they seem to be doing anything threatening to bree, jump in there and SNATCH 'ER!!
by teh maggster on 2006-10-06 02:48:45

omg good video, i like daniel now. he seemd a bit of a jerk before but now he's coming off a bit better. well done on the creators half by getting us all involved
by gerald on 2006-10-06 02:55:28

The only thing Bree needs to save herself from is Daniel. And check himself because his obsessive nature and stalkerish behavior is unhealthy. G0!! Daniel GOO!! Go! check youself in a mental hospital.
by Patsy on 2006-10-06 02:58:04

Ah! Great "episode" -- good way to keep the speculation and emotional suspense going. This site shows an aerial view of the ancient Egyptian temple at Denera (not that this answers anything about the cult Bree is in): http://www.hethert.org/dendera.html The flooding season of the Nile lasted until mid-October, then the season of "Poret" (Emergense) begins...so the ancient Egyptians had ceremonies about that. This page has info: Poret, Emergence: http://hometown.aol.com/tokapu/calendar00.htm But we can all Google Egytptian terms -- how does this apply to Bree? Hmmmm... Daniel -- you're in CA,right? Go to UCLA or Stanford and talk to an Egyptologist, or find one on line, and find out some historical information about the seasonal ceremonies in ancient Egypt -- or those at Denera in particular -- then do a video and throw that info at Bree. Even if it doesn't relate exactly to the cult she is in and ceremony she is doing, it may be close enough to surprise her into reacting and talking with you again -- it might also show her that you're willing to at least learn some factual/historical basis about her religion, yes?!!

by rakesh on 2006-10-06 03:28:21

Post the video of the play!
by Irie Little Lizzie on 2006-10-06 03:29:22

I just posted some info about the temple at Dendera and Egyptian ceremonies, adn a suggestion to Daniel -- the post showed up, but now it has disappeared. Why are posts being censored??
by annie on 2006-10-06 03:36:10

Okay, as soon as I posted the above about censoring, my post showed up again (yes, I had refreshed the page). I am _not_ losing my mind (well...maybe not! :))
by annie on 2006-10-06 03:38:05

Oh, yeah. Right. Let's take any religion that isn't practiced by a billion people and call it a 'cult', eh, Daniel? You are sooooo narrow-minded. I was right about you, weren't I? Bree, maybe you need to find you a guy who's more open minded, who's willing to accept you for who you are. You know, lot's of paranoid psychos try to get their girlfriend to change religions. It's a control thing. Make her give up something that's important to her ... and she's gotta give it up for HIM! Danny is a psycho. Get out while you can. Danny (sigh), you disgust me.

by ZEUS on 2006-10-06 05:14:28

Daniel should respect her boundaries and stay away. He is self-righteous and self-serving. There is nothing wrong with believing in things that are not popular.... in fact, it may be healthier than being a blind sheep.

Sacraficial Offering?
by Cocoa on 2006-10-06 05:43:39

if you listen, Daniel didn't say her religion IS a cult, only that it seems that way to him. and if you notice, her religion does have attributes of a cult. there are some sources that suggest Jesus & Magdalene were gnostic members/leaders in a secret society that practiced egyptian mystic rites. Daniel, what you can do is continue watching Bree (stake out). maybe try to sneak into the ceremony to either confront her or save her if she's involved in something dangerous. appealing to her parents is pointless, and Bree isn't willing to see you, and she isn't going to publically reveal the secrets of her religion. so you could make a vid detailing the talking points of why you are concerned and confused. declare a truce and ask to meet with her in person and try to resolve this peacefully and with an open mind. ultimately, you have to let her make her own choice, whether you like it or not. Maybe Paul and Andrea could help. And look for Cassie; she seems important to Bree, and might help explain things.
by sean stubblefield on 2006-10-06 06:04:05

I'm all for religious freedom, and think that even cults have a right to practice as long as they do not bring bodily harm to humans or other animals. However, even though I respect a cults right to exist legally, I DEFINITELY wouldn't want someone I cared about to be a member of a cult, and would probably do eveything I could to get her or him away from the brainwashing. The difference between a healthy religion and a cult is that a healthy religion encourages the empowerment and individual identities and autonomy of the members where a cult demands -- sometimes subtly -- that members hand their power over to teh leader and or the group, get their sense of identity through teh group, and subordinate their individuality in it. DanielBeast, if you can't beat the system by confronting it, work within it. Find out more about her religion and post a video that shows that, so you two are at least talking again. (By the way, good video, man. You've defintely got acting talent.)
by don_quixote on 2006-10-06 06:11:48

well Danny-boy, I say keep doing what your doing, maybe like someone else said you can be "an inside man" pretend to want to be in the cult, then inform us about it...Brees very life could be in danger! besides I tend to win my bet that you end up saving the day:);) -Cat
by cat on 2006-10-06 06:13:18

"In religion and sociology, a cult is a cohesive group of people (often a relatively small and recently founded religious movement) devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding culture or society considers to be far outside the mainstream. Its separate status may come about either due to its novel belief system, because of its idiosyncratic practices or because it opposes the interests of the mainstream culture." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult

Hey,well doesnt matter if she aint bree or what ever lol,i ddnt really know bout this whole incident to bout 2 days ago lol, well her name jessica lee rose, thtas exactly my frnds name and both r kiwis and both r hot. good on ya babe
by adam.r on 2006-10-06 06:24:40

Daniel, forget Bree and get with me! lol - ok, jokes aside. Here's what you do; 1) Continue researching like you are doing. Knowledge is power. As events unfold you will be better equipt to handle them having gained more knowledge. 2) Accept that you can't do anything but Love Bree unconditionally. Be there for her when she falls. 3) Marry ME!!! hehe
by Alexi on 2006-10-06 06:37:06

Daniel, could you show us a clip or two from her play? maybe that will reveal clues about her religion that we can help decipher.
by sean stubblefield on 2006-10-06 06:37:24

"What can I do?" Mabey you can give her her space and not follow her around. If you really want to talk to her, then go and do so.

by Toxic on 2006-10-06 06:47:19

Daniel, I’m not sure you’ve correctly identifie Bree’s religion, but that isn’t really important in the grand scheme. What is important? If you’re in love with Bree, you need to patch things up. How? Here’s a step-by-step guide. 1. Stop stalking her. However benevolent your motives, girls do not generally respond positively to guys who lurk about in the shrubery. 2. Contact her (call her, email her, post a video for her, whatever). 3. explain why you’ve made these bad choices lately (What bad choices? Trying to push her away from her religion and following her around, for instance. I think you may have felt pushed by Bree’s lack of forthrightness about her religion. Let her know that when she hides the details of her religion from you, it makes it seem sinister and dangerous. Because of your feelings for her, that makes you want to protect her from it. It’s stupid, but it’s a guy thing.)Ask for her forgiveness, or failing that, her understanding. 4. Ask her to tell you more about her religion so that it won’t seem so mysterious, sinister and dangerous. Don’t pressure her to reveal things she says are secret. Don’t judge what she tells you. Simply receive the information. Thank her for her forthrightness and ask for some time to digest what she’s told you. 5. Digest what she’s told you. Does it still seem sinister under the bright light of disclosure? If not, tell Bree that, and enjoy the happy reunion. If it DOES still seem sinister, it’s time to contact the authorities. There’s a chance they’ll be able to allay your fears or help you resolve any real problems. Good luck! The Fishmonger
by The Fishmonger on 2006-10-06 06:58:17

i think you guys shuold go back to just bree and her cam, her amazing charisma is what makes this work
by jim on 2006-10-06 07:02:15

Can you post the video of the play for us to see? Maybe you should find Cassie and team up. If you think Bree is in danger, you need to help her! You need to talk to her again and tell her exactly why you are freaked out. Can you meet somewhere, like the park, again?
by LonelyLove on 2006-10-06 07:05:36

OK get this, so yesterday I was looking through this aquarium catalogue, where they sell all those castles with holes in them for fish to swim through and stuff, and they had just introduced a new "Ancient Egypt" line... and one of the aquarium figurines was... "Temple of Dendur". I kid you not. I can send you it if you want, Daniel, maybe that will help you figure some of this out? I think you need to look more into what these mid-October rituals are. If it's sounds like something that doesn't endanger Bree or her life, you should leave well enough alone. I think/hope her parents know what's best for her enough not to sacrifice her to Horus or anything. Maybe by leaving things alone she might come around to you eventually. But... if it turns out the Ancient Egyptians did something much more sinister at that time, this might call for a quick intervention.
by HyeMew on 2006-10-06 07:07:15

Daniel, If you care about Bree you need to find a way into her life again. It's obvious that she's not going to change her religion, or move away from it. Approach her and tell her you promise that you won't bring up the topic of religion. Begin building your friendship with her in other ways. Nevertheless, continue doing research on her religion / cult and if you feel this ceremony is a major risk to Bree’s well being, follow her and rescue her! You know what night the ceremony is. Whatever happens, you need to open up the portal of communication with her again.
by Anonym97 on 2006-10-06 07:09:49

Sorry, but Booooring. What's with you people who act like this is real? It's pure fiction.
by MGP on 2006-10-06 07:19:43

where is the early hip-hop music video of bree? it was her 3rd or 4th one. and what happened to "proving science wrong". stop all this drama about this cult and be friends again. we love seeing bree in front of her computer smiling and just being cute like she used to be.
by Vlad on 2006-10-06 07:28:17

I think you guys should put more action! Or else, you will lose our interest. You need to surprise us. Do something unexpected. Mystery is good, but too much is like not enought. You say fans have some input in this. Maybe Bree could talk about another guy she met at the ceremony or something and she could show some interest into him. Her parents would like the guy cause he's from her religion.... Daniel would be furious!! He would go crazy and stalk her and bree's parents even let her go out with him... He spies on them and they kiss!! Oh my god! And Daniel interveens, he could get in a fight with the guy. Bree would never want to talk to Daniel again, her new guy posts a video with bree saying how Daniel's a loser.. .And crazy... And to leave her alone... And after a while, Bree would realise that the guy she met at the ceremony wasn't really that interesting... And she really likes Daniel but doesn't know how to get him to forgive her and her parents hate him... It could be one of those romeo and juliette things, where the 2 families don't want them to be together but their love is too strong for them to stay apart... That's what I call action!!
by Tammy on 2006-10-06 07:35:13

Daniel, your tone and approach in this video is very antagonistic and insulting to Bree, by insulting her religion. I recommend your next video should include you apologizing for unintentionally denegrating her religion, and confess that you don't understand it but are willing and trying to, and ask for her help. you want to get on her good side, help her to trust you again. trusting her could facilitate this.
by sean stubblefield on 2006-10-06 07:40:01

okay to all of the people out there that are telling him that it's wrong that he thinks its a cult and she has the right to her own religion and stuff ... if you are 'disappointed' in him or whatever REMEMBER IT'S JUST A SHOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!!!! get over yourselves.

by trash180 on 2006-10-06 08:00:04

YES! Find Cassie!!! Bree speaks foundly of here. Maybe she can get through to her!! As for the ceremony... Some of the exercises she has to learn are old forms of yoga (which was originally used to prepare ones self for certain ritualistic sexual encounters) in order to prepare herself for the sacraficial breaking of her "purity bond." Also, the is something about eating human matter. In my research I found a picture of a package of cookies that had a disclaimer that they may contain human hair, blood and skin among other animal bits. The package also sported that star like symbol found up in the LonelyGirl15 title at the top of the page. If I can find the picture again, I will post it, along with the info I got the rest of this from. Maybe homemade baked goods were made with her hair, blood and/or skin for the ritual... hence the bandage she sported awhile back?
by KidLit on 2006-10-06 08:01:56

Oh my god you guys.... I'm reading comments about him apoligizing and for them to become friends again.... I'M DISAPOINTED IN THE FANS! I'm not sure.......but if you find info that says she's going to get hurt....you need to help her ASAP!!! Try sending her a message or making a blog to her or something saying that your sorry you upset her and you did everything you did with the best intentions and that you were just scared for her....
by Jessica Ariel on 2006-10-06 08:44:25

Hmm...I think you're going to have to go to this ceremony, Dude. Enquiring minds have to know...
by lidskidder on 2006-10-06 08:45:14

Daniel! You should watch the play video and summarize it in your own words for us viewers.. I think that putting the actual play video up on your YouTube would be too risky, and that writing your own eye witness account of it by re-watching the tape would be wise. You could further research it that way and so could we. Hang in there! :)
by Morgan on 2006-10-06 09:06:43

The suspence is killing me... Daniel - Great new video, but your tone of voice was very insulting. I dont think Bree will be very happy about this video. Like I have mentioned before, I think you should go over to her house and talk to her, just let her know that you are worried because she has not shared very much inforation with you. Approach all new information with an open mind. About the video you shot at Bree's summer camp play, do you still have a copy? You could always watch it again to try and learn something about her "Religion" Perhaps even post some of it, as intriguing minds want to know and see!
by Aidan on 2006-10-06 09:22:59

Great point, Moondoogle! (comment #52)
by Alee on 2006-10-06 09:31:07

the word "cult" in colloquial speech is almost used negatively and in a derogatory/intolerant way. It's an insulting thing to say.
by Tarhun on 2006-10-06 09:46:06

Great point don_quixote #30. That puts it in real terms.
by Zach on 2006-10-06 09:46:47

She is O.T.O - Ordo Templi Orientis, a Thelemic group. And yes ... they do retain a lot of Egyptian rites and rituals. It is recognized as a tax exempt religious organization in California and has "lodges" all around the world. Crowley was a "Grand Master" in the UK. As far as I know, the O.T.O. initiation ceremonies don't always involve "sex magick" as a lot of you guys have implied -- but that doesn't mean they don't do it. There have been incidents in the past ten years where certain California groups were busted for massive drug possesion and there have been accusations of child molestation -- no actual proof. Just thought you'd want to know. You gotta get through to her Daniel. ASAP - definitely before Oct. 12th "Crowleymas."
by Lauren on 2006-10-06 09:49:24

This video's lame. He's heard her mention things about her religion many times, and suddenly he shows a curiosity in her religion? So then what does he do? He reads some of the forum information? No independent searches for Aleister Crowley or Denderah or Johann Weyer, etc. Just right to the forum. That's not credible. It's not a natural reaction. And even if he went to the forums, the most he found out was that Denderah has something to do with Egypt? He didn't see the references to the occult and satanism and the speculation about upcoming human sacrifices? (And he's completely oblivious to the fact that October is the month with Halloween in it -- a pagan holiday?) None of this is consistent with the ARG notion here. Rule #1 is it's not a game. That rule must be violated if the character in the game is consulting a forum that talks about it as a game. Q.E.D. Basically, once the LG series was outed as scripted and produced, the characters should stop referring to the external world's blogging about their series. That's an internally self-contradictory act. Daniel's reactions to the information he's been given have been the worst part of the series. They're not believable. They more than seriously strain suspension of disbelief. It would easily be possible to write a script in which Daniel has more realistic reactions, and still isn't much able to turn Bree away from her seemingly fell course to 10/12/06.

by FRESCO on 2006-10-06 10:20:27

Great video...really shows Daniel's confusion and frustration! People have different kinds of reactions; just because his isn't exactly how you might react don't jump to conclusions. When one doesn't understand a religion/cult/whatever you guys want to call this, and if your best friend is extreeeemely into it... a) you are naturally curious to some level and b) considering how society/media depicts minority religions/cults to be, you would naturally worry about your friend. People are bothered by what they don't understand, it scares them. There may or may not be something sinister about this whole thing, but to Daniel who is just getting bits and pieces without really understanding the whole picture, it's going to cause him some concern. Really liked the acting...

Here's an interesting link for a definition of "cult" on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult Somewhere along the way, I remember reading that in the beginning, Christianity was considered a cult by the Jews. According to Wikipedia, a cult is: "In religion and sociology, a cult is a cohesive group of people (often a relatively small and recently founded religious movement) devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding culture or society considers to be far outside the mainstream. Its separate status may come about either due to its novel belief system, because of its idiosyncratic practices or because it opposes the interests of the mainstream culture..." Well, if you think about it, all of that fits for the beginning of Christianity. Jesus was doing stuff that the Jewish Pharisees considered to be outside the mainstream of the Jewish faith at that time. Jesus and his followers were a small group that were dedicated to Jesus' non-mainstream teachings, therefore, in the eyes of society at that time, Jesus and his followers were a cult. Two thousand years later Jesus and his teachings are a mainstream religion. My point being, what is considered a cult at one point in time, may someday be considered a mainstream religion later on. Who's to say? What right does anyone have to put down another groups beliefs, as long as they don't harm anyone? Yes, some groups may have ideas that lots of other people find kooky and are contradictory to mainstream ideas, but because this country is based on and still upholds the right for all peoples to worship freely, then no one has a right to prohibit anyone from practicing or believing in what they want, as long as it doesn't harm anyone. At what point does the cult cross over to become a mainstream religion? In Christianity's case, I think it was when Constantinople in 313 A.D. legalized Christianity with the Edict of Milan. So, does that mean that a cult becomes a mainstream religion once the government recognizes it as such? Daniel's character needs to either accept Bree and her faith, or step out of Bree's life. When people get involved in a relationship, be it friendship or romance, they must accept a person with all his/her quirks as a total package and not try to change that person. So many times people try to "change a zebra's strips" and it just can't be done. I know that Daniel is freaked out by Bree's faith, but he either has to go with it or say good-bye to Bree, because he's never going to be able to make Bree leave her faith. On the other hand, Daniel does have a right to be concerned for Bree's safety. The whole problem here is a lack of communication on both parties parts. If they could only sit down together and discuss their feelings and concerns then I think that their friendship could be mended. Daniel needs to directly ask Bree what takes place during the ceremony so that he can be assured that no harm will come to her. Perhaps he also needs to have a talk with Lucy to make sure Bree is in no way harmed during the ceremony. Daniel needs to explain that his behavior is a result of his fear for her safety. If only Bree could understand this, she would then realize that Daniel isn't being a jerk, he's just afraid. Fear makes people do weird stuff. Bree needs to explain to Daniel that his fears are unfounded, that she will be alright. Bree has tried, but not successfully, to explain to Daniel that her faith is a very deep and integral part of who she is and if he wants her in his life, he needs to accept that. He doesn't need to like or approve of her faith, but he needs to accept that her faith is what it is and it will always be a part of who she is. I'm not sure how Bree can get this through to Daniel, as I think Daniel is very stubborn and doesn't seem to want to listen. His fear for Bree's safety is blocking his ability to listen and understand Bree. Basically, it's fear and non-communication that is damaging their friendship.

U need to back off Daniel! Love means total acceptance......which means that if you love her you need to accept her for who she is.....religion and all. If you back off she will want you even more as a friend. If you continue to stalk her then you are toast.

This is almost creepy how similar this is to me. Except, I (The guy) was supposedly 'too religious', and she was like you. I have to tell you a few things: 1. Stop bugging her about her religion. Nothing can end your friendship faster. 2. Girls are too sensative. These next few video's she'll try to hurt you, by pretending to be made up, then crushing your hope again. 3. Keep following her! See what she's up to. Next time though, show yourself. Thats all I have to say.
by John on 2006-10-06 12:17:46

Yes! I've just got an idea! Find a different girl and pretend to forget about Bree. She'll become madly jealous (She's in love with you - she just doesn't want to admit it) and who knows what she'll do from there?
by John on 2006-10-06 12:24:24

Hey Daniel. You are doing the right thing and being Bree's true friend by investigating this. I think her religion sounds evil. You need to rescue her and run away -- take your car, all your money, your computers, and all your video editing equipment, Bree's favorite books, attach that bike to the roof and drive to Mexico. You can start a new life there. You can marry Bree legally. The two of you would have beautiful children (but wait until Bree is done with her education, there are plenty of good schools in Mexico). The ad revenue from your Revver videos will be enough to buy food. HyeMew has offered to help you start an aquarium. I have one of those air bubble chests you could use as well, it helps aerate the water which keeps the fish healthier.
by JayHenry on 2006-10-06 12:25:24

the fact is every religion starts as a cult. a religion that contuinues to ben sen as a cult through the ages is anyhtin religion that is secretive ,exclusive, and not main streem or popular. the reson brees religion freks you out so much is becasue she is so sensitive aobut it and secretive. if she told you everyhting she knew aobut it you may not be so freaked by it. then agin some of there blifes might be very uncomfortable for you . shes afraid you will reject her if she tells you about it and therfor rejected you and bared you from that part of her life so she wouldnt be ridiculed. in most cult type religions people are taught young to be secretive aobut it becasue they are told they will be persicuted for they beliefs
by peter on 2006-10-06 12:26:37

If the early writing are correct Jesus could not have been called a cult leader because he didn't demand that people hand over their individualiy and/or money. There are brances of Christianity that have become cultish, but Christianity, in and of itself, does not fit the definition of cult. Here's a good site that differentiates: Cult Versus Religion "How can you know the differences between a true religion and a cult?" http://boonebahai.missouri.org/c-vs-r.html Here's another really good site. It compares religion vs cult by each attribute: http://www.faithresource.com/SpiritualAbuse/ArticlesSpiritAbuse/ReligionversusCult.htm

by Jonneh on 2006-10-06 12:34:19

we need to be careful here, us and Daniel, about turning this into a "he versus she" debacle. neither one need be "the bad guy". we need not "choose sides". and beware of assuming that Bree's religion is necessarily bad/wrong/harmful just because it's unconventional/ unknown or we don't understand it. ESPECIALLY since it is unknown and we don't fully understand it. Thelema and Crowley are satanic or "weird" just because it's non-christian (or at least non-orthodox)? even satanism isn't what people commonly assume. let's rise above religious persecution, shall we? that way, madness lies. you think you know, who she is, what's to come? we haven't even begun.

by wesley on 2006-10-06 12:57:05

If CiW is part of LG, then Daniel would acknowledge it, right? But if its not...then it makes sense that he wouldn't even look into it. If it is part of LG, Daniel obviously needs to find her and talk to her..especially since they both have something in common now---Being freaked out by Bree's religion. Maybe she would have some insight as to what to do or what freaked her out...Daniel might be able to save the day. If it isn't part of LG, Bree needs to see Daniels video and just notice his concern. Maybe invite him to the ceremony? Or at least explain what the play really was about, since he butchered it?

by Nic on 2006-10-06 13:50:41

Thanks jc_gypsy7 (post # 69) for the link. I find it all very interesting, especially this: "In the language of the early Christians, the mysteries were those religious teachings that were carefully guarded from the knowledge of the profane. An example is the Secret Gospel of Mark, which was preserved from profane view in Alexandria, and is now known only through chance references in a letter of Clement of Alexandria. The Gospel of Thomas purports to express mysteries that were confided by Jesus to Thomas alone, and the traditions of early Christian Gnosticism were based on esoteric information available only to disciples. Though these traditions were marginalized by mainstream Pauline Christianity and eventually declared "heretical", it has been suggested that Christianity had its origin in a mystery of initiates. According to this view, Christianity began as a Jewish adaptation of Greek mystery religion, and that Paul developed Christianity in another, more public, Hellenized direction, ultimately more acceptable to mainstream Roman culture. These gnostic views are wholly rejected by almost all Christian groups in the world today. Indeed, it is believed that many of the New Testament authors wrote specifically to refute gnostic heresies." Thanks to you, I learned something new today! Cool!

Good video, Daniel. You're convincing and also cute! This discussion is all really interesting and I love it that I can see different ideas excahnged without insults (well, not much of that anyway --but you know how otehr forums get), and a shared interest in the story. This video really tripped my wire since I have been interested in ancient Egypt since I was a kid gaping at the mummies and canopic jars in teh "Egyptian room" at Chicago's Natural History Museum. I agree that it's not good to automatically label a mysterious religion a "cult". Just because someone doesn't understand something doesn't mean it's ominous. On teh other hand, cults do exist and do have damamging effect to teh members, so it's good to differentiate. don_quixote your post about that was really good. Hope the next video is posted soon! I'd like to see Bree's reaction to Daniel's obvious sadness. Has she become hard-hearted toward him?
by otter on 2006-10-06 14:06:33

LMAO, Jayhenry! Concerning the mystery-cults link: "The Orphic cult, by contrast, based on sacred writings attributed to Orpheus, required chastity and abstinence from meat and wine." She does have a copy of Orpheus on the shelf doesn't she? Eh, probably grabbing at straws. Don't you kinda feel like they threw in little bits of a "million different fucking religions" into this thing? Sorta like Crowley though, I suppose. He delved into many different religions.
by trash180 on 2006-10-06 14:19:13

something you could try: let it go. if Bree is essentially a good person, it doesn't matter-- except as a matter of curiosity-- what her religion is. everyone has their secrets. let her have hers. she'll tell you if/when she wants to. don't hold her religion against her. who you are is not defined by what you do; what you do is defined by who you are. and Bree is a good kid, right? trust in that, and everything else is superfluous.
by sean stubblefield on 2006-10-06 14:22:48

So they went with the Order of Denderah, but there is no such thing, a fictional cult for a fictional character. Oh well, I was hoping they would base it on something in the real world, it would make it more believable.
by robtomorrow on 2006-10-06 14:23:14

Here's an interesting link on Thelema that really does a good job of explaining it, what they believe in, their rituals, etc.: http://www.answers.com/topic/thelema Somewhere I read that one of the Thelema rituals involves fasting for purification and blood letting (cutting and letting blood drip in a vessel, such as a chalice). Unfortunately, I can't find that link now. I've been reading tons of stuff on Thelema and in the confusion, I should have bookmarked it. Oh well. Anyway, if that's the worst of it, I don't think Daniel has anything to worry about as far as physical harm coming to Bree. Now, if Daniel is Christian and is very much into his faith, then he has a lot to be worried about because if Bree and her family are involved in a cult or religion that doesn't focus on the Word of God and on Jesus for salvation, then Daniel will be worried for Bree's soul. If Daniel is Jewish or Muslim, then he will be worried and upset that Bree isn't worshipping the "one true God". So, aside from the worry of Bree becoming physically harmed, Daniel might worry about Bree's salvation of her soul. In many mainstream religions such as Christianity, Judaism and Islam, it's a sin (and an unforgivable one, meaning your soul will end up in hell) to worship anything but the "one true God". Daniel hasn't really expressed this type of concern, so I'm thinking he's mainly worried about Bree's physical safety.
by Engaged to be Married on 2006-10-06 15:00:40

way back when, on the good ol' youtube, "denderah" was a tag on the "learning to drive" video. While everyone else was wondering, "ORDER OF WHAT??!" I just checked the tags, and there it was. So I did kind of the same research that daniel did, but only got results about ancient egypt, not any cults or ceremonies or anything...
by teh maggster on 2006-10-06 15:06:35

Lots of posts saying they think Bree and her family are Satanists. Here's a link about Satanism: http://www.answers.com/topic/satanism It sounds very different from Thelema. If Bree and her parents are Thelema (which, by the way, does take in Egyptian stuff, like ceremonies and ancient gods, etc.), then I don't think they would be classified as Satanists. Unless of course you believe that any religion that doesn't worship the "one true God" is Satanic, then Thelema would be Satanic to you.
by Engaged to be Married on 2006-10-06 15:28:29

How can Daniel do research on a fictional cult? Do a fictional google search, borrow a book at a fictional library? Part of the fun was doing our own research, on Aleister Crowley,or Thelema and Enochian, but now we are in totally fictional territory. So now all we can do is wait and see what mumbo jumbo the Creators come up with.

Dude, building on JayHenry's idea, I think starting an aquarium to get your mind off the Bree craziness is the right thing to do. Let's just say I have connections, and am willing to send you a complete set-up free. What do you say? You could seriously decorate it all up with those Denderah-type decorations and maybe show Bree in a video. She'd feel happy that you decided to learn about her religion enough to create an aquarium set-up about it instead of ridiculing it. Whattya say Dannyboy? You know how to reach me.

#18: Weird rituals = cult. Christianity, thus, equals cult. And most religions, actually... In fact, cult is like a synonym of organized religion. Or unorganized religion. Cult cult cult cult cult. Weird word. Anyway. Please keep on posting, Daniel! I want to know all about the Order of Denderah. Or whatever. ^^ Bree's being brainwashed.
by Chelsea on 2006-10-06 16:37:52

Robtomorrow (post #80), Yes, it's made up in the sense that there isn't any well known current religion that has the name Order of Denderah. However, if you go to these links, http://www.hethert.org/dendera.html http://www.geocities.com/athens/sparta/2622/html/denderah.htm http://www.sacredsites.com/africa/egypt/dendera.html you'll see the ancient Egyptian Temple of Het-Hert at Denderah which was built between the first century B.C.E. and the first century C.E. and used to worship the ancient Egyptian gods Aset, Wesir, Heru, Isis, Osiris and Horus. Thelema incorporates ancient Egyptian beliefs in it's Book of the Law, especially the worship of Horus. There are modern day Thelema groups that focus on the ancient Egyptian stuff such as the Horus-Maat Lodge and the group Aeon of Horus. I'm sure there are many more Thelema groups out there that most of us have never heard of and the Order of Denderah could very well be one. However, since this whole Lonelygirl15 thing is fictional, it stands to reason that Bree's religious group, the Order of Denderah, is fictitious as well. Why should anyone be disappointed if the writers of Lonelygirl15 made up Bree's religion? Heck, they made up this whole story. That's like being disappointed that there is no snow covered cottage at the North Pole where Santa and the elves live since Santa and the elves don't really exist, why do they need a real cottage? My point being, if Bree's character isn't real, why do the writers need to use a real religion? I think it shows creativity on their part to have a made up religion. Imagination holds no boundaries. With a made up religion, the storyline can go anywhere at this point. It makes it more exciting. Since we can't do any research on the Order of Denderah, it will be interesting to find out just what Bree's religion believes, what they do in their ceremony, etc. A fictitious religion lends an air of mystery to the storyline and should be enjoyed for what it is. We'll all just have to sit back and let the story play out to see what happens next.
by Engaged to be Married on 2006-10-06 16:42:02

Yeah! It's about time Daniel got smart about this! RESEARCH. Of course it's a cult, that's a no brainer. Now hurry up and tell us what it is she's actually going to DO in this ceremony.
by Fei on 2006-10-06 16:58:16

I like that there's a feeling of interaction. Remember, to the person who suggested that made it seem false, that this takes the form of a video blog. It was originally posted on YouTube. Interaction or the reading of comments about your video blog are entirely appropriate. It's quite the guilty pleasure. I have gotten frustrated at mentally yelling at the people on my fave shows to do something, and now I know they might be listening! Ah-ha! At last! More research, Daniel. Being confrontational doesn't cut the mustard. Approach with reason and concern, not accusations. Keep up the good work. My popcorn and I will be waiting.
by Lizard on 2006-10-06 17:04:55

I find nothing about this "order of Denderah", but Denderah is a temple in Egypt and Aliester Crowley has the right connections to Egyptian religious ideaology. So maybe this ceremony has a connection to that temple. All of these things have links, but I can't seem to line it all up. And Daniel says the play was about the Mayflower, but that's where it gets hard. Maybe Bree's religion celebrates the Mayflower voyage because people fled from England in pursuit of religious freedom. But that's not so likely because as much as the Puritans sought freedom and left England for fear of persecution, they demanded that the voyagers, or as they stigmatize them "strangers", on the boat convert to their religion. They weren't so much for everyone's religious freedom, just their own. I'm guessing that one of these "strangers" is important to Bree's religion somehow, but I can't seem to find anything about anyone who wasn't part of the Puritan religious group. Maybe someone else knows. . .

by scholarbowlchicka on 2006-10-06 18:57:12

Before everyone flips out about Daniel calling Bree's religion a cult, you should actually find out what the word cult means. It typically has negative connotations, but it really just means a religion or religious sect generally believed to be extremist or false. Notice it says OR...given that her religion is a bit extremist to the majority of the population, it can be defined as a cult. If you don't believe me, look it up. :) Ironically, all of you who jumped down Daniel's throat said that he was jumping to conclusions, yet you did the exact same thing. Pot, meet kettle. ;)

YOU NEED TO KIDNAP BREE FOR HER OWN GOOD! THEN WITH HER AS A CAPTIVE AUDIENCE, YOU CAN TALK SOME SENSE INTO HER. YOU MAY NEED TO PROCURE DRUGS TO AID YOU IN THIS ENDEAVOR.

#18, I don't think peoples assumtions about Bree getting into trouble are overly negative. You say you think she's not a naive girl. But based on all the things Bree said, like "they don't even understand it" (learning to drive) when Daniel ask her what the religion was about, is a pretty clear indication that she's most likely being mislead. If she wasn't naive, then she wouldn't accept being a part of something that the leaders "don't even understand". And if she's being mislead, then they are brainwashing her into something that's not good.
by Jim on 2006-10-06 21:11:20

Daniel, you must save Bree from this bizarre occult. Before they pick her brains out through her nose! Or sacrifice her to a crocodile god. They may make her do unnatural things with a papyrus reed. Worse yet, they may make her listen to bad 80's new wave and walk like an Egyptian!
by Lureman on 2006-10-06 21:47:08

scholarbowlchicka, your mention of the Mayflower link reminded me that there's an anthropologist -- Jackson something -- who claims that there's a burial site in Illinois that is Egyptian, and that Egyptians came to this continent before Columbus. Maybe this Mayflower adventurer ran across something like that. I also remembered that Anne Rice had two of the main Egyptian dieties -- Isis and Osiris -- as vampires in her Lestat books... so I did a search on "Anne Rice denderah" and found this: "In the Osirian temple at Denderah, an inscription (translated by Budge, Chapter XV, Osiris and the Egyptian Resurrection) describes in detail the making of wheat paste models of each dismembered piece of Osiris to be sent out to the town where each piece was discovered by Isis." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banebdjed And mention of Anne Rice (Osiris as a vampire) on the same page.

In response to attorneydc -- LG15 is not an ARG. CiW is an ARG. Now, whether or not th Creators of LG are the PMs of CiW, I don't know. But LG15 is clearly not an ARG. It's a TV show. Daniel I agree with those who say you need to reason with Bree by showing her why you care about this. There are definite reasons to be semi-freaked out by the cult-like nature of her religion. The secrecy is suspect. Also this: http://user.cyberlink.ch/~koenig/rf/raid.htm
by Neroon on 2006-10-06 23:24:11

WAIT. is it possible that it's all a trick and they are going to sacrafice Daniel? They will wait for Daniel to get near the ceremony and then they grab him and sacrifice him. Bree is simply the bait! ;)

This page is pretty dense, http://www.sacred-texts.com/eso/enoch/hptgram.txt, but it describes the ritual of the heptagram -- it mentions the hexagram (the symbolon this page is a unicursal hexagram), as well as mentioning "Osiris risen", and Enochian. LOL! It probably has excatly zero to do with Bree's ceremony, but it's fun to play sleuth!! :)
by annie on 2006-10-06 23:43:38

To Daniel and the viewers. Perhaps Daniel's memory is playing tricks on him. Perhaps the person who left the Puritans and had adventures did so shortly after the Plymouth Colony was founded. You might want to look at Merrymount-- also known as Mount Wallaston, and later as Mount Dagon-- and at the history of a certain Thomas Morton. You might want to peruse Hawthorne's "The Maypole of Merrymount" and think of folk traditions and religious persecution, and how that's how such things are relevant to this story. Consider what a Maypole is. You might want to think of Frazer's GOLDEN BOUGH and the Cambridge Ritualists-- a type of anthropology with which Bree's mother might well be aware, given her field of study-- and think of how such work examines seasonal rituals, and you might want to look at how such anthropological work fed into the devolopment of certain magickal traditions. You might want to think of syncretic religious systems. You might want to consider that THE GOLDEN BOUGH influenced Crowley's GOLDEN TWIGS... Or you might not. But I think the Mayflower references will make more sense if you do so.

# 15 Kaci is a genius!! One week to go until we fall on the 12th. I think that the story will (or should) become more intense. Daniel needs to find Cassie to shed more light on whats going on. And wouldn't it blow your mind if he does find Cassie and they met and start talking and then they discover that they are being followed? WRITERS ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION!?!?!?!?!
by sanilynx on 2006-10-07 00:16:45

Daniel is just plain pathetic. I can't stand his moaning and woe is me attitude. Pleeeease create the conflict elsewhere writers. Give Bree back her strength and cut this loser free. (The interviews of the actors and creators celebrated what great chemistry the two lead actors have together. Bree and a wet lettuce would have more charisma.)

by Jim on 2006-10-07 01:06:23

I also read somewhere that in some cults they will brainwash young girls into wanted to be sacraficed. They believe they are doing a good thing and want to do it. Pretty scary if you think about it! Daniel? You need to rescue her. There needs to be a big fight.. Then at some point you say EXACTLY the right thing to her and she believes you and falls back in love. There is a MAJOR kiss scene and you two need to escape together. Who else wants a kissing scene between Daniel and Bree? I do :-)
by Jim on 2006-10-07 01:08:51

what did Daniel mean when he said "she saw OUR last video" ?? it wasn't just Daniel that filmed his last "stalking Bree" video ?
by munchkin on 2006-10-07 02:21:05

Daniel do not concern yourself with Bree's religion. It is not a cult. Nothing to worry about. Continue on with your own "happy" life and leave her alone.

The sound is not as good here as the vids on youtube ~ you should fix that.
by jezzabelle on 2006-10-07 08:36:51

I don't know.. I think maybe Bree DOES know what she is getting into. That is why I think it was so important for her to go to the equinox with her parents since they wouldn't be allowed to come to the ceremony (where she would be sacrificed), so she would never see them again. Yes I want Daniel to save Bree. I assume he will because it would be dumb for them to end the "show" like next weekend. Do you guys think Cassie is alive or a ghost?
by Maria on 2006-10-07 09:40:27

Jim, (Post #175) Thank you for the link. Very long, but well worth the time to read it. I learned a lot. Thank you! Although we studied briefly Satanism in my world religion class at the university, we only barely touched on the subject. We did not fully investigate Crowley and his beliefs. In a semester, there was way too much material to cover on the other religions to spend any length of time on any one specific religion. Also, I feel that if our professor had done any lengthy focus on Satanism, there would have been a campus outcry of the students, faculty and parents since Satanism is such a “touchy” subject. The long article really frankly spells out just how horrible Crowley was. He was into hard core drugs, ritualistic sex, Satan worship, practicing black magic, believed in sacrificing animals and children, blood sacrifices, etc., had dealings with Hitler and Nazism and the list goes on and on. The article does venture off a little and gets into bashing the U.S.A. and the C.I.A. and gets into conspiracy theories and wacky stuff like Roswell, but overall, it's a great article and very well written and researched. However, one must consider the source. The article was written by a man who is heavily into conspiracy theories, as can be ascertained from his web site's mission statement: "The purpose with this website is to reveal the real powers behind the scenes of politics, media, business and entertainment. Illuminati News is not an organization or an organized group, but the mission of one person, whom via a network of other researchers and people in general, willing to help out with information, has the purpose of lifting the veil of secrecy that has led the world into the condition it is in at this moment. This webmaster is of the conviction that the world is controlled by a network of secret societies, with the goal to create a New World Order and a One World Government. This network of extremely wealthy and powerful people have, through lies, half truths and propaganda, succeeded in making more and more of the world population believe that a world without borders is a world of peace; a world without wars. They are working hard to make us believe that Globalization is the road to freedom, when in fact it is the road to enslavement. I want to show the readers of this website that behind this sweet talk is a malevolent agenda to control the world and make us slaves in a global society run by a World Dictator (a World CEO) and a web of power-hungry people behind the scenes. Their purpose is to create a Super Socialist State, worse than the former Soviet Union, with a micro-chipped population, who can be tracked and controlled remotely from a Super Computer, located in Brussels, Belgium. I want to show the readers of this website that this network of secret societies, commonly called the Illuminati, The Conquering Wind of Moriah, or simply the Brotherhood, is the force behind this goal, and that this goal, which they call "The Great Work of the Ages", has been worked towards for thousands of years. I also want to stress how important it is for us all to wake up from the web of lies that this group of secret societies has spun, because if we don't wake up and start acting against this force, mainly on a spiritual level, we are doomed to becoming slaves under the New World Order. If the Illuminati succeed in micro chipping the world population, they will also stop our spiritual growth, because this is also something the microchips can do, by slowing down the speed our bodies and spirits vibrate at, preventing us from reaching higher levels of existence. What these higher levels of existence are is explained in the Spiritual Section of this website. This webmaster does not subscribe to any religion, group or secret society. I am me and am not following any dogmas. I believe the truth is inside ourselves, and only you as an individual can free yourself from the bonds of this physical reality by developing spiritually. I further believe that all major religions are manmade and created with a purpose to control the masses and turn friend against friend. Religions also alienate people from each other, often create conflicts and violence amongst otherwise peaceful people. We are at war. However, this war can not be fought with fire arms, but is a spiritual war and needs to be fought on a spiritual level! Wes Penre, Illuminati News" All things considered, as intelligent human beings, we must remember that not everything we read is true or it can be somewhat true laced with crazy propaganda. We all need to learn to filter out what is real and what is the imagination of a deranged mind. Now, about Bree and her family. If it's true that Bree and her family are really into some kind of cult that follows the teachings of Alistair Crowley, then Daniel had better run for the hills and never look back. He should never get involved in Bree’s cult. That cute, beautiful sweet girl Bree, is deceiving. She looks innocent on the outside, but if she really holds dear the teachings of Crowley, she is a monster on the inside and so are her parents. However, perhaps both Bree and her parents really are duped and have no idea just what they are involved in. On the surface, Bree and her parents seem like nice, normal, peaceful people, so how could they embrace a belief system that glorifies hard core drug use, ritualistic sex, Satan worship, practicing black magic, sacrificing animals and children, blood sacrifices, Nazism, etc.? Perhaps Bree and her parents don't really know all there is to know about the cult they belong to. It stands to reason that any loving parent would never do anything to place his/her child in danger. This makes me think that the cult has something more sinister up their sleeve that they aren't telling Bree or her parents. Although Daniel should keep his distance from the cult, if he truly cares about Bree, he needs to do some serious research and investigation of this cult that Bree and her family belong to. Once Daniel finds out what the cult is really all about, he can expose it for what it is and save Bree and her family from heartbreak and tragedy.

Scholarbowichicka (Post #146), Yes, I want to hear more. Instead of typing it all, is there a link we can go to, to read it? It would save you the time and trouble of typing something long. Thanks!

Hey (Post #154), Yes, the actress that plays the part of Bree is a real actress. She's from Australia and has been featured in TV commercials and in a movie about a bride. The actor that plays Daniel, I'm sure he's done more acting than just this Internet stuff, but I don't know about it. I have tried to do some research on his background and wasn't able to find anything. Like so many young actors and actresses now days, they struggle to make it and often times have day jobs waiting tables at a Los Angeles restaurant. These young talented folks unfortunately number in the thousands and come and go so frequently in movies that it's hard to keep track of them. Long gone are the glory days of the "Silver Screen", when everyone knew all the famous actors and actresses of that era. The studios featured the same actors and actresses in many movies so fans really were able to follow their careers. Now days, a relatively unknown will be in a film and then we'll never see him/her again. So many films are like that now days. I stopped reading all the celebrity magazines a while back because I just didn't know who any of these people were they were talking about. I miss the glory days and glamour of Hollywood and I wish Jessica and Yousef the best of luck in their blossoming careers.

Neroon (Post #162), Thank you for the link. Wow! Those folks in the link really are messed up with drug use, sex, crime, etc. This link just goes to show that there are cult groups out there doing horrible stuff that many of us aren't aware of. If this Lonelygirl15 story were real, Bree and her parents could very well be involved in just such a cult. Scary and sad. Such lost souls.
by Engaged to be Married on 2006-10-07 10:10:45

Bree never found out what her Dad said to Daniel, either. Daniel agreed to tape the "mayflower" play, anyway, so it must not have been overly confrontational, but it obviously didn't nurture trust in the "religion", cult, whaatevah.

ITS SO STUPID when some of you people say: "Why can't daniel respect Bree's religion?" and "why are people judging her religion as dangerous for her when they know nothing about it?" OMFG you're such morons! Haven't you seen the vids where this little girl is crying and afraid of even asking her parents to go to a party? Is your opinion that if it doesn't kill her then her parents are free to treat her as they please and suppress her freedom? Americans brag about their freedom all the fucking time.... where's bree's freedom? OK she says she likes her church and of course she does. That doesn't mean that they treat her nice! Her parent's clearly have no real emotional contact with her and don't give a shit about her needs. That's not right. A lot of young muslim girls are forced to walk around in huge tents with only two holes for the eyes and are circumsied at a young age(they sow their pussies shut). Most of them claim they love their god and religion and sure most of them probably do. But at the same time they are treated like animals in the name of religion. Ok so bree's religion is not treating her like that... but she doesn't feel that she's free to make her own choices. Sure this story might seem really far out to us because bree is an ordinary white girl. But bree's story, with all the sneaking out windows and being afraid to do certain "normal" things is the cold reality for millions of young muslim girls around the world... especially if they live in a western society. why don't some of you people wake up and smell the coffee? a21q at hot mail

I need to make a correction to my post # 189. Jessica is not Australian. Here's her background: Originally from Salisbury, Maryland, much of her upbringing was in Mount Maunganui New Zealand. Jessica attended Mount Maunganui College in Mt. Maunganui, New Zealand, from 2000-2001 Then attended homeschool while attending an acting class at studio 111 in Auckland NZ. In January 2004 at 16yrs old Jessica moved to Auckland to study make up at 'The Academy of Film & Television make up' while continuing her once a week acting classes. Her goal out of make up school was to work with 'Peter Jackson', which she achieved in December 04 when she worked on 'King Kong' as an extras make up artist for a week. She signed at one point with the Clyne Modelling Agency. Jessica's parents divorced in 2004 . Jessica moved to Salisbury, Md. in May 2005 and stayed with her father to save for school and soon enrolled in the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios in Burbank, California. While at NYFA, she had roles in several student productions, later posted to YouTube by MadMoikey. She starred in Unleash The Fury and In The Deep.

To people saying that they miss the way the videos used to be like (i.e. silly and fun and light): This is a story. Stories progress in a certain way. At first things are normal and happy and fun, characters are established and formed. Then you throw in a conflict. Things get worse and worse. That's called the rising action. Then there's finally a climax, where there's a turning point in the story. Then a resolution is reached, it can be positive or negative, doesn't matter. Then there's falling action, and an ending. At this point in this story, we're in the rising action getting toward a climax, which will supposedly take place on the 12th with the ceremony. Not all stories are set up like this. But, obviously, this story is set up in this traditional sort of way.

Modelmotion Post #196, Thank you so very much for the link! Wow! I love it! Great info! Here's what the link says about Yousef, who plays Daniel: Yousef Abu-Taleb is the actor who plays Daniel in the Lonelygirl15 video series. He was born in Arlington, Virginia and lived in Jordan until he was 8. Yousef's father is Jordanian and lives in Herndon, Va. His mother is British and lives in Harrisonburg, Va. Yousef, 26, took classes at Blue Ridge Community College before deciding to move to Los Angeles in early 2005. Yousef has two brothers and four sisters. He worked as a waiter and bartender while looking for roles as an actor. He worked with acting coach Robert Miano and producer James Quattrochi. He had a small part in the film Dorm Daze 2; the scene was cut, but can be scene in the Deleted Scenes section of the DVD. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Yousef also found out about lonelygirl15 on Craigslist. He almost missed his audition, because he got it confused with another audition. When he arrived at the lonelygirl15 audition he said he was wearing a sweatshirt and torn up jeans while everyone else was wearing Abercrombie. Unlike co-star Jessica Rose, Yousef was not hesitant to take the role. During the filming, before his identity was revealed, Yousef kept a low profile, keeping to his house and wearing sun glasses when he went out. After The Creators and crew came forward, Yousef was interviewed by MTV and CNN. He also appeared with Jessica on the Tom Green show. Hey (Post #154), see, both Jessica and Yousef are professional actors. They're training, education and resumes are nothing to sneeze at and I wish them both all the best in their careers and personal lives.

Dear EngagedToBeMarried, Yeah, so I thought there was more information to be found there, but not so. http://www.shvoong.com/books/biography/129181-great-beast/ That's all there is but it's all very interesting. Plus, that's probably why Daniel is danielbeast because mr. crowley was known as the beast. The beast comes from revelation. Yeah, I have way too much homework to be researching like a crazy person but you're welcome to finish where I left off :-)
by scholarbowlchicka on 2006-10-07 11:17:39

1. This is reaaallllyyyy starting to drag out. You need to have something exciting happen soon or your viewers are going to lose interest. 2. If you want to make it in this business you need to make things seem realistic. (i.e. when Bree mentioned that youtube was the only way she and Daniel could talk-it's obvious that Iming and e-mail are only two of the many, many ways you can communicate via the interenet). Another thing that seems entirely unrealistic to me is that the characters are still trying to portray a "video blog" feel to it. Face it, there aren't many normal teenagers that would show this much of their life on the internet in front of millions of people. Over all, I'd rate it 4 our of 10. Okay acting, interesting story line, but the writing... well, it's not all that great. I mean, is Daniel trying to figure out what her religion is (and if so, has he ever just ASKED Bree?), or is he trying to stop her? And in that case, just because the religion isn't followed by half of humanity does that make it wrong?
by Kris on 2006-10-07 11:19:25

Ok let me get this straight the Creators post a video "learning to dirve" and attach a tag "Denderah". In the video Daniel and Bree have an argument and Bree refers to something called The Order of (?) Daniel doesn't understand, ("order of what?") he later reads the comments of people watching the videos and notices that many think that she said "The Order of Denderah" because of the tag. In other words Daniel gets his information from the viewers who in turn get their information from a clue given by the Creators. Which begs the question why doesn't he go directly to the Creators and ask them?
by robtomorrow on 2006-10-07 11:32:50

peter (195) your relativist definition of a cult is one way of looking things, and if that works for you, great. In practical terms, that kind of falls apart, though. Taking people's money and manipulating them into submerging their identities are two typical characteristics of a cult, but not the only criteria. jc_gypsy7 (194) thank for that link: good find!! everyone is posting interesting info and links, but your particularly caught my eye because it mentions Liber Resh, and I had wondered if that was the ceremony the series "reators/writers" were riffing from. The main point of the "Great Work" for a Thelemite/Quabbalist is the "come into knowledge and conversation with the Holy Gaurdian Angel", a.k.a "higher self", to know one's True Will, and live accordingly. Liber Resh is the first major iniatory step toward this, and involves "working" Tipareth (Sephiroth 6, represented by the Sun,on teh Tree of Life) -- facing the sun at dawn, noon, sunset, and midnight and reciting the "hail unto thee..." litany that the page you linked to mentions, is part of this "working". But this typically is started at Winter Solstice, and continues as a process/"working" through to Summer Solstice, so that's probably not Bree's "ceremony".

Scholarbowichicka (Post # 203), I didn't mean there's a wealth of information on Crowley or Thelema or Satanism at the link. I meant that there's information on the actors. You are right, there isn't a wealth of information at the link, but if one can't find information elsewhere about the actors, this is a good beginning anyway. Thanks for the link to the books on Crowley. Yes, please do focus on your homework. Education is one of the most important things in life and is the key to freedom. I am past school days and have way too much time on my hands as a bored middle aged woman, but all this Crowley stuff and Satanism is just getting a bit too creepy. Think I'll skip the in-depth research on it, as you have suggested and just have fun trying to figure out what's next with the LG15 series. Besides, I'm not crazy enough to go hog wild on spending hours on researching the teachings of a very warped individual who drove two wives insane and his mistresses committed suicide. I just wish I knew what the ceremony involves. I thought that if I could do a little bit of reading on all this Crowley stuff, I'd find out. But it looks like that isn't the case. It's just a wild goose case down an insane path, a place I don't care to go. At any rate, my curiosity is getting the better of me on this whole LG15 series. Can't wait to see how it unfolds. Bravo to the writers!

Wow scholarbowlchicka! Cool link, but "Otter skins, “black as Jett,” were worth “3 or 4 angels of gold” each" OUCH!! ;)

I think the stupidest comment here is #199 Andreas. That comment made her seem ignorant and racist. How can you generalize the muslim faith by saying stupid things? You dont know anything about the muslim faith and Bree's faith to judge it. What I think you're doing is judging something based on your biased. You see that it doesnt follow certain norms of your culture and/or religion so you judge it. That is what the problem in this world is. Also, who are you to criticize Bree's parenting skills. I dont know about you but i think its common for parents to not want their young daughter to go to a party. Why you may ask? I don't think I have to answer that question.
by Jen on 2006-10-07 11:50:16

hmm.. before someone jumps all over me, let me correct a previous quote.. this is not a game, as such, but an interactive video : ) and otter and engaged to bemarried - you guys are welcome!
by jc_gypsy7 on 2006-10-07 11:51:54

Engaged to be Married (208) I basically agree with your assessment of Crowley, but unfortunately people tend to throw the baby out with the bathwater. What he practicedm, at essence, is about really living one's life in balance and consciously , but his ego and neurosies/psychoses twisted his practice of Thelema, and since he was a showman, people paid attention to him. It gave honest practitioners a bad name. Some Thelemites/Thelemists don't disdain Crowley because their interpretation is that he was thumbing his nose a "stodgy" Judeo-Christian dogma. But when a person who acts as a leader encourages two young adherents to get hooked on heroin, and then tells them "Now use your Will to overcome this addiction", I think that crosses the line into dark & isn't simple unconventionality. My guess is that the phot of Crowley was on Bree's wall to give an aura of the occult and make peopel speculate... I'll bet she isn't into Crowley's version of Thelema.
by otter on 2006-10-07 11:55:14

58: I don't agree with his actions just being "guy things". Even if they are stupid, I doubt that I wouldn't do the same in his shoes. And I personally think Bree is being fairly ridiculous as well. Stalking might possibly be a little on the weirdo side. Confronting her is not. Your steps 4 and 5 are good ones, though. Hopefully he follows them. (:

jc_gypsy7 (210) I totally get what you mean. :) It _is_ a game in a sense. Seriosu fun... fun seriousness... the interactivity is what makes it as engaging as it is!

#205 jc_gypsy7, the game is fun, I agree but the circular nature of this particular part of the puzzle bothers me. Read my first paragraph.

the order of the trees? is this gonna be the bree witch project?
by platypusrex on 2006-10-07 12:05:58

Let me put it another way. The word "Denderah" didn't come from anything said in the videos. It came from a tag placed by the Creators on the YT posting of "learning to drive".
by robtomorrow on 2006-10-07 12:14:51

#214 platypusrex (your name is great!) You know your Latin prefixes, don't you? dendr- = tree. Somone else mentioned a 'tree of life' or something that had to do with magick. Maybe that relates to your call about "trees". Way cool!
by Zach on 2006-10-07 12:22:24

robtomorrow (215) I see what you mean. During the argument Bree & Daniel had ("Learning to Drive"), she said something he tried to get her to repeat, but didn't he think it sounded like "Gecko"? (Gecko?? LOL!)
by otter on 2006-10-07 12:25:35

Daniel, do you still have the footage of the play you video'd for her dad? Maybe if you could post it, we could all help you figure out more stuff about what this religion is. I mean, Bree's been looking really rough lately, and.. I don't know. I mean, her religion could be just totally innocent and everything. I mean, she's always been very open about it, right? But, maybe there's something more sinister going on, and Bree may be in danger. The more you tell us about what you know, the more we can help you to help Bree. The best place to start is if you still have a copy of the video you made for her dad.
by Lady`Sapphire on 2006-10-07 12:29:36

Temple of Dendur is at the Metropolitian Museum of Art in NYC. Somebody came up with part of this story sipping coffe at the MET.
by Jen on 2006-10-07 12:51:24

Message to Daniel: Bree's mind's made up! She has no intention of listening to you. You either should leave her the -insert expletive- alone, thus respecting her decision making; or perform a drastic maneuver in order to stop the ceremony. If I truely loved/cared about Bree as you claim, I would do something grandiose. My advise - follow her "helper" to a riskless location (possibly her house); kidnap and torture her (if necessary) into DIVULGING THE INTRICACIES of the ceremony. Then you will be in a much better position to decide your next course of action.

Otter (Post #211), The whole Crowley, Thelema thing may be a ruse, but I tend to think it isn't because why else would there be the Unicursal Hexagram posted at the top and bottom on this web site? Designed by Aleister Crowley, the Unicursal Hexagram is one of the common symbols of Thelema. Like I said in a previous post what Crowley stands for is horrible. If anyone idolizes Crowley and truly knows what he was like and what he practiced, then that person is truly a monster. Crowley claimed to be the most evil man alive in his time. He may not have been, considering Hitler, Stalin, etc., but he sure is in the top ten list of unsavory individuals and not one that I think anyone should be proud to say he/she follows the teachings of such a despicable man. Despite the fact that modern day Thelema followers claim their intentions are good and harmless, one cannot ignore the fact that the root origins of the Thelema belief system comes from a notoriously evil man. Some modern day Thelema followers may be harmless good individuals, but they will be hard pressed to win people over to accepting Thelema as a “nice” religion What’s the first thing that pops into most people’s minds when they hear the mention of Aleister Crowley? They think Satanism and horrible black masses with sacrifices and the like. Try as they might, modern day Thelema followers have been unsuccessful in shaking off the negative images that are associated with Crowley. Judea-Christian beliefs may be chock full of dogma, but may people who follow the teachings of Judea-Christian beliefs are good upright citizens and have done many things for charities that involve the sick, dying, children, animals and the poor. When was the last time anyone heard about a fundraiser or charity event hosted by a Thelema group? Granted that the early days of Judea-Christian teachings were filled with violence with the Crusades to name just a few, still over all, the general beliefs of it’s followers are peace loving, kind people. Trace back to the roots of the founder of Christianity and you find a man named Jesus. Did he use drugs? Sacrifice children? Animals? Participate in ritualistic sex? No. Now, look at the founder of Thelema, Aleister Crowley and compare. Like nigh and day, huh? My point being, regardless of how much modern day Thelema followers want to project a nice warm fuzzy feeling about their faith, it isn’t happening. Unless Bree and her family are naively involved with their cult and don’t really know what it’s all about, Daniel had best steer clear of Bree, her family and the cult they are wrapped up in. It is a wolf disguised in sheep’s clothing.

jc_gtost7, I was just about to post the same link! It is very informative.

Andrea (post #199), why are you freaking out? So her parents are a little extreame and they are quite protective of her but I think you are taking it to the extreame. So Bree isn't free to do whatever the heck she wants...isn't that normal? I think that parents are in their right to decide if their TEENAGERS are able to go to parties or not. As far as them not letting Daniel in their house...as far as they are concerned he isn't the element they want around their daughter. I think that is extreame since he seems like a pretty okay guy (stalking aside since we know the creators are having him do it so we can see were Bree is going with her helper, Lucy). As far as the homeschooling goes, BREE wanted it. So its not like they forced her to do that. I also don't understand why she doesn't know how to drive but I do know that it is quite difficult to get a license in California (compaired to most other states). There are several classes and other requirements that need to be done before any teenager can have a license there. I don't think the are being horrible parents who are getting off on controlling her. They are her parents and have the right to parent her. If Bree were over the age of 18 and this sort of thing was going on I would be quite worried but as we all know, BREE is 16. As far as the Ceremony goes, I feel it is wrong that they are allowing her to be in it when they don't know what is going to be happening in it and they cannot even be there. Bree wants to be in it and she feels it is an honor, I am sure the parents also feel it is an honor but I feel they are being irresponsible by letting her be in something they know so little about.
by Penny on 2006-10-07 14:44:16

Alright. Reading all your responses, doing the research, finding out about the 'vampire' stuff, the drs, iron pills, and injections...I'm a little worried now! The Ceremony seemed harmless at first, but now it doesn't sound safe at all. Someone needs to help Bree. I think she's too naive to realize what she is getting herself in to. Her parents won't be there to save her. Someone...DANIEL... needs to help her before it's too late!!!
by bluecountry6 on 2006-10-07 15:05:15

http://www.controverscial.com/Aleister%20Crowley.htm Sometimes when people post websites on here the information is hard to follow. I think this is probably one of the easiest websites I've found to read about Aleister Crowley and everything he represents. It's plain to see that Bree might be in a bit of trouble here. Anyhow, anyone that wants to know just a little more about who Crowley is I suggest this site.
by baby blue26 on 2006-10-07 15:12:47

“Aleister Crowley was a drug- and sex addict and was addicted both to opium, hashish, cocaine, mescaline, amphetamines and heroin. He opened a Temple of Satan in London, where many high society ladies became his pupils. By that time Crowley had shaved his head and filed his canine teeth so sharp that he could initiate every new woman with a “kiss of the snake”, as he gave them a bite either on the wrist or in the throat. HYMN TO LUCIFER by Aleister Crowley Ware, nor of good nor ill, what aim hath act? Without its climax, death, what savour hath Life? An impeccable machine, exact He paces an inane and pointless path To glut brute appetites, his sole content How tedious were he fit to comprehend Himself! More, this our noble element Of fire in nature, love in spirit, unkenned Life hath no spring, no axle, and no end. His body a blood-ruby radiant With noble passion, sun-souled Lucifer Swept through the dawn colossal, swift aslant On Eden’s imbecile perimeter. He blessed nonentity with every curse And spiced with sorrow the dull soul of sense, Breath life into the sterile universe, With Love and Knowledge drove out innocence The Key of Joy is disobedience.” I don’t care what anyone says, even that link that jc_gypsy7 posted (post # 219), I still believe that Crowley was a Satanist. Modern day Thelema groups try to distance themselves from their origins (as they do on the link jc-gypsy7 posted), but they really can’t. They say they are nice law abiding people who don’t sacrifice animals or children. I’m sure they don’t, however, their faith has a dark past with Crowley. Modern day Thelema aside, anyone who idolizes Crowley, as Bree and her family must or why would Bree have a shrine to him in her bedroom and the web site have The Unicursal Hexagram on it, are people who love the darkness of Satan and all the despicable things associated with such evil. You doubt me? Check out these links as were previously posted by Jim (post # 175) and Neroon (post # 162): http://www.illuminati-news.com/aleister_crowley1.htm http://user.cyberlink.ch/~koenig/rf/raid.htm Not a pretty picture, huh? Crowley does not conjure up a warm fuzzy happy feeling. Rather, Crowley and all those who idolize him are the perfect picture of evil. Daniel, run, run fast and don’t look back.
by Engaged to be Married on 2006-10-07 15:17:17

something that has been bugging me--- bree's religion seems to be super strict. however she was allowed in her room by herself with daniel. this might just be me, but i come from a very strict hispanic family and i am not allowed to have a male near my room at all and i am 21 years old!! if a guy comes to my house i have to entertain them in the living room where everyone can see. is it just me, or is it strange that daniel was allowed alone with her?
by eeta on 2006-10-07 15:46:36

eeta (post # 231), Thank you. I wondered when someone was going to point that out. I thought that since I'm older than most here (in my mid 40's) that perhaps I'm just old fashioned in my ways. My parents never would have allowed me to have a boy in my room and especially alone with the door shut! I also was never allowed to have my bedroom door shut except when I was dressing or sleeping. Although I don’t have a daughter, if I did, I wouldn’t allow her to have a boy in her room with the door shut. I noticed this from the very beginning that it was quite odd to allow Bree the privilege of having a boy in her room, especially when Bree‘s parents are supposed to be so strict, but like I said, I figured maybe now days that's acceptable to most people. I guess I'm wrong and it's still considered unusual. Good, as it should be. Can't trust those raging teenage hormones, LOL!
by Engaged to be Married on 2006-10-07 16:10:08

yeah with the doo shut, with a boy , and with A WEB CAM!!! lol
by jhon on 2006-10-07 16:41:36

Engaged to be married, I too was not allowed to have boys in my room if the door was closed. First, my mom had to be home if I was going to have a boy over and we could go into my room but I wasn't allowed to have the door closed...I was raised by parents who are a little old school. All my friends were able to be around boys unsupervised, their parents "trusted" them (that's all fine and good but knowing what was really going on since my girlfriends told me stuff, I know their parents shouldn't have trusted them so much).
by Penny on 2006-10-07 16:48:07

Maybe her parents trusted her (before she snuck out) enought to have a boy in the room. However, when it came to going to a party where they could be drinking, or drugs or even sex (OH MY!) they said no. Just a thought, could be wrong
by Joe on 2006-10-07 17:00:19

Engaged to be Married (218) I definitely agree that Crowley had serious issues. He laughed at his reputation and layed on it, calling himself "the Beast 666" and talking about "killing male children" (he meant "masturbating", and laughed at people who took him literally). An unsavory character, though quite an intellectual... but he did not start Thelema. He joined the OTO. I'm not sure how to answer your question about when the last time a Thelemite org hosted fundraiser -- or maybe you were asking rhetorically. I don't think a doing fundraiser is a gauge of goodness (need I go into flagrant example among the evalgelicals?), and as far as good works go, people who are into "alternative" religion usually (not always, but usually) don't advertise it, so many who do good things don't have deeds framed by their particular religion. But, anyway, doesn't Chritianity say that God looks on a person's heart, not just on deeds? I don't have any investment in defending practicioners of Thelema (and I wouldn't ever defend Crowley), but I think putting a blanket label on a diverse group of people isn't an accurate perspective. If Bree's religion is Thelema, it is very odd that their group is allowing a 16 year old to do an important ceremony.
by otter on 2006-10-07 17:08:57

Not that I think this has anything to do with Lonelygirl15 but I was just watching some of the old videos waiting for my laundry to dry. There was one proving science wrong where they were talking about the Coriolis effect. Daniel kept pronouncing it wrong, he kept saying Cornwallis. Maybe he was trying to send us a message. So I did a google search on Cornwallis and Religion. Got a lot of hits on the British general and then found one on Frederick Cornwallis Conybeare on Wikipedia. I think the moderators are removing posts with links so you'll have to do the search yourself. Here it is: Frederick Cornwallis Conybeare (1856-1924) was a British orientalist, Fellow of University College, Oxford, and Professor of Theology at the University of Oxford. He took an interest in the Order of Corporate Reunion, an Old Catholic organisation, becoming a Bishop in it in 1894. Also in the 1890s he wrote a book on the Dreyfus case, as a Dreyfusard, and translated the Testament of Solomon and other early Christian texts. As well, he did influential work on Barlaam and Josaphat. He was an authority on the Armenian Church. He from 1904 to 1915 was a member of the Rationalist Press Association of freethinkers, founded in 1899. These multiple associations make his position on Christianity harder to discern. One of his best-known works is Myth, Magic, and Morals from 1909, later reissued under the title The Origins of Christianity. This has been read both as strong criticism of the Jesus myth theory, making Conybeare a supporter of the historical Jesus; but also as an attack on aspects of Christianity itself. He returned later in 1914 to make a direct assault on leading proponents of the time of the Jesus-myth theory. --------- Again, I think this is more me being bored than anything to actually do with Lonelygirl15. I hate doing laundry, so bored.
by Joe on 2006-10-07 17:23:15

I agree with what someone up there said, this is starting to drag on a bit much. We need something more exciting to happen in each video for us to be able to hold out the long wait until the next one. I'm almost want to temporarily stop watching so that when I come back there will be more then two new videos to watch.
by Fei on 2006-10-07 18:10:43

Joe, maybe it doesn't have anything to do with LonelyGirl but it is still interesting to see how you followed that lead, and to read the info about Conybeare!! I clicked over to ths site thinking another episode would have been posted *dang!* Hope the creators take the suggestion from some of teh fans to show a clip from the "Mayflower" play that Daniel video taped.
by Zach on 2006-10-07 18:11:35

Time for a new video
by Captain Catfissh on 2006-10-07 18:44:44

Just a word of advice. Fei is right. There is too much "down" time between videos. Pick up the pace or you will loose fans. I know you have to write the scrip, give the actors a chance to prepare, film, and the edit it but COME ON they are 30 SECONDS LONG!!
by Still Waiting... on 2006-10-07 18:46:33

I see the creators are writing the story to go wherever the "fans" want it to go. The fans wanted her to be in a cult so they wrote her into a cult. Daniel is now asking what us fans want him to do next, flat out!?!?! I am finding this is making me be ho hum about what happens next. The writers should get creative and throw us for a loop! Or is this the point of “interactive videos?” hmmmm..?
by A Fan not a Junkie on 2006-10-07 18:48:36

Just a thought....I read somewhere this site gets 4 million hits a day. Well I am a fan, not a LG15 junkie, and I know I still check the site twice a day. So if everyone does this; only really 2 million individuals are really visiting. But we all know some individuals come 20 times a day to this site. I bet there is more like 1 million individuals who visit this site daily. Still a lot! Does anyone see that there might be 257 comments they are mostly from the same 10 people? And 1/6th of them they are arguing with each other. Hmmmm….I think “quarrelling” should be edited off the comment list.
by A Hit on 2006-10-07 18:49:41

heheheheeee its amazing how ppl really took what he said seriously..heheheheheee,, its an entertainment show ppl...there is nothing in the modern world called (Egyptian cult)..there are no (cults) whatsoever in Egypt.. some hestorians connect od Egyptian religions and Myths with certain aspects and beliefs in Christianity, Jewdism and Islam...actually Egypt had the greatest influece on all the three religions...but there is no existing religion in the modern world that is connected to pharos in particuar.. Anecient Egyptian worsihped the Nile..the source of live and fertility in their land..they also had to make a fake sacrifice evry year by throwing a doll of a beauitful girl in the Nile to ask for its mercy...but that ended 5000 years ago!! hint:- i am Egyptian..and the only religions exsit in Egypt are Islam and orthodox christianity and minorty of catholics...no Cults can be found in modern Egypt
by Ahmed on 2006-10-07 19:15:29

Look, Despite the fact that we all by now should know that everyone involved here is an actor or actress, most of these comments are addressing them as real people..WHY? ...and...I admitthat the producers are doing a great job at making this have alot of depth..And I too am interested in what is going to happen next..Will Bree die will daniel save the day...Will daniel team up with cassie...Who knows..but just look at all the clues and stop acting like they are real people..Like telling daniel or whatever his name really is to leave her alone..HELLO! Its a script people..And I think they are doing a good job a making this scarey..Kinda like the Blair Witch movie..I knew it was fake, but it got me...as does all of this Cassie is dead or what did she throw in the water in the bag. and Healter Skelter..wait Mansons version was Helter not Healter...I wish this was a dang movie so I could just get to the punch line already..

Otter (post # 253), I apologize to you and anyone else if I have offended anyone. I certainly did not mean to bash anyone's faith. I guess I wasn't very good at trying to get across my point. I only wanted to point out that Crowley was well know for doing and saying things that weren't very nice (whether or not they were to be taken seriously or not) and often times his actions if not illegal (drug use), were very close to it (such as ritual sex, etc.). Anyone who looks up to someone who does these things cannot be a person of good character, to say the least. If Bree and her family admire such behavior (and they must or why would they have his picture up on the wall?), then I think their character is in question and Daniel ought to think twice before getting more involved.

by Susie on 2006-10-07 20:25:42

Ok, well, even though this is all pretend, I still know what is going to happen. Daniel and Bree are going to get over this, and maybe one day we can find out what Bree's fake religion is. I really do like the videos, I was just disapointed to find out that they are scripted.

Month of Hathor-From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "Hathor also known as Hatour is the third month of the Coptic calendar. It lies between November 11 and December 9 of the Gregorian calendar. The month of Hathor is also the third month of the Season of 'Akhet' (Inundation) in Ancient Egypt, where the Nile floods cover the land of Egypt. The name of the month of Hathor comes from Hathor, the Ancient Egyptian Goddess of Beauty and Love."
by modelmotion on 2006-10-07 21:05:27

I am still leaning twards the thelma, namely the branch known as Ordo Templi Orientis. on the wikipedia article relating to this subject it provides a little quote taken from one of Crowley's books: Crowley wrote in his Confessions, "the O.T.O. is in possession of one supreme secret. The whole of its system [is] directed towards communicating to its members, by progressively plain hints..." I think this is significant because what have the creators been giving us since day one? progressivly plain hints. Also it seems to have ties to Egyptian mythos (Denderah anyone?)and uses the thelmic star...i really think that is significant. Also at the bottom of these pages in the right hand corner next to the LG15* is a word writen in symbol θελημα, I also looked this up on wikipedia and found: Thelema is the English transliteration of the Ancient Greek noun θέλημα: "will", from the verb θέλω: to will, wish, purpose. This also explains why Alister Crowley is in her room, as he was a major figure in the thelmic religion. Take it as you wish, but after reading what I have I am convinced that she is in the OTO

The language cards she had made no sense, I actually recognize one of the symbols on the flash cards, it's a phonetic symbol of chinese... none of them are at all related to chinese... I think trying to link Aleister Crowley and Cults isn't going to work, because all this shit is made up, and badly researched in my mind...
by doyle on 2006-10-07 22:15:24

Dara and Moondoggle - After reading the OTO site, I totally agree.. the references to the Egyptian god/goddesses ties it all in.. even the freemason part, which might loosely include Thomas Morton. It's the only thing that connects all the pieces we've been given so far.

Show us the 'play'. show us another fight. reveal information about the ceremony. show us a rehearsal for it. something! enough with the how my parents met, you betrayed me stuff. Gosh, do another proving science wrong or video! anything! ps-Daniel-you might want to step up the acting a bit. I don't mean to be mean, but in your video before this one, the 'where's she going?' 'what's she doing?' lines were very forced...this one feels a bit that way too. Get angry with her! Show it!

Daniel u know is dificult to understand a persons belives, but you had youre chance from the moment you knew her to find out, spying on her or researching is not the best way to find out. I don`t think here parents will "kill" here in a sacrifice for there belives,, so,,, U are a good boy do not "skru" it up. And good luck Bree
by Artemis on 2006-10-07 23:02:52

many of you have refered to the things in bree's religion as "secret" maybe to us it is "secret" but to her it is "sacred" notice how similar those words are? i was raised my entire life LDS (and am still an active Mormon)and i have had to set a lot of people straight on the whole cult thing, usually people call a faith a cult that they dont understand or dont want to understand. Just like me and my faith. Do we do things that are secret? To you sure it seems secretive, but to me they are sacred and I dont wish to "cast my pearls before swine" Perhaps that is what Bree is doing, PROTECTING her pearls (faith) from those who would ridicule it (us or "swine") Just keep that in mind.
by DaraLynnie on 2006-10-07 23:44:36

I read one of the websites posted way above, and read that Crowley filed his teeth so that when he kissed women, they would receive the "kiss of the snake." Could this have something to do with the iron pills?
by Sara on 2006-10-07 23:45:17

One more thing, I don't understand how a religion wouldn't permit parents to be with their children when they're taking part of a ceremony. When children are baptized, the whole family is honored to be there. The extended family comes for a child's barmitzvah (excuse my spelling). This sounds very wrong to me that the parents couldn't participate in viewing the ceremony.
by Sara on 2006-10-07 23:48:43

In post 263, the poster asks why people respond directly to Daniel or Bree. In my case, the answer is, to help push along the plot. The idea behind this format appears to be the willing suspension of disbelief to the point where we can interact with the characters. And to interact with the characters, you have to pretend they aren't characters, but actual real people. This is a media form that doesn't break the 4th wall, it completely transcends it, bringing the view into direct interaction with the characters and plot. It's a bit like those old choose-your-own-adventure books I loved as a kid (if you turn around to find out what the noise was, turn to page 216. If you decide it was just your imagination and continue chasing the shadowy figure, go to page 18.). But it's more complex then that. There are clues to figure out, tantalizing hints as to what *could* be... So, you put aside what you know about it being scripted and immerse yourself in the world. It's just more *fun* that way. At least, it is IMHO. :)

Thanks, "Engaged to be Married " #187. I didn't have time to get into it that deeply, but from the looks of it, I figured it might be useful. I'm still looking it over. Thanks for writing, as it was very informative.

YeSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
by mimsy on 2006-10-08 02:57:04

Yessssss! They put BRONZER on Yousef and he looks HOTT! Only if you go to the very start of the vid and pause, he looks like the worst stoner!
by mimsy on 2006-10-08 02:59:05

Have to agree 100% with post #279 by Lady Saphire. The totally interactive nature of the LG15 series (especially when you take into account the whole Cassie sub plot) is what makes it so damn interesting. So, if you are unable to suspend your dibelief, and just enjoy something good, well... I'm actually a little sad for you. But, that's no reason to trash the people who are.
by Joshua Cole on 2006-10-08 03:00:29

Will you plese put on EVEN MORE bronzer for the next vid? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
by mimsy on 2006-10-08 03:07:48

Daniel you bludger! It's been more than a day, what are you doing with your time?!?!?! Hurry up and post another video already!!!!!! HURRY OR I MAY HAVE TO DEFER TO LITTLELOCA
by sanilynx on 2006-10-08 04:55:45

No I lie, littleloca has nothing on lonelygirl15. I'm suffering withdrawal... C'mon Daniel, post something.
by sanilynx on 2006-10-08 04:57:26

Call me Daniel! Quit wasting your time with that weird Bree girl. She's just going to break your heart and spawn a metaphysical apocalyptic war, anyway. You don't need that stress. CALL ME!!!! We'll go see Spiderman 3. CALL ME CALL ME CALL ME!!
by Nora on 2006-10-08 05:33:53

Engaged to be Married (264) you didn't offend me at all, but thanks for your post!! My post was in the spirit of good debate. YOu have put a lot of thought into your posts, along with some others here, and so there's substance there to discuss. :) I agree that all the clues point to Thelema but the creators apparently made up a "non- traditional" Thelemic ceremony... which is great, but it just causes a brief pause of confusion.
by otter on 2006-10-08 06:20:58

I hope this is not adding information that will complicate or bog down the fun of the story but Thelemites work to help bring forth the various "aeons" or epochs in time as laid out in Liber al. Some cabals focus on the Maat Aeon. But again, the writes may be cherry-picking from Thelema and not going by actual practice... no complaint there! It's called "poetic license" and writers do it all the time, and it's fine as long as others know it's "based on fact" and not factually accurate. :)
by otter on 2006-10-08 06:31:54

The story won't climax on October 12th, because Jessica and Yousef are on contract *at least* through the end of 2006.
by Noa Singer on 2006-10-08 07:08:25

#291 sanilynx good one :-D littleloca is really scrounging for "most viewed" isn't she? #293 otter thanks for the tip! I Googled "Maat Aeon ___ the rsults' first link has info about an Equinox ceremony and there's a Wikipedia link for "Aeon(Thelema)" that looks pretty interesting __ what it has to do with Bree, I don't know, but it's more fodder for speculation at least until the creators *Ahem!* post another episode. *glare*
by Zach on 2006-10-08 07:16:15

Someone said something abut the alphabet bre practices being made up (I'm sorry but I cant recall who and I am in too big of a hurry to look)I looked once again and it is Enochian, or the language of angles. it does have strong occult ties, and if you dig around long enough you can indeed find a link to Thelmic "cults" and enochian. I'm sorry I have no links to give you but if you use wikkipedia (generally a reliable source) you can find it! LATER TATERS!!
by DaraLynnie on 2006-10-08 07:40:56

Response to #263 and #284: I'm with you Lady`Sapphire, even though I know it's scripted there's something about seeing comments left that are interacting (not sure how much the comments really affect any of this) with the blog/story adds another level to the whole production. And personally, what's wrong with people replying as if it's not scripted, let them have their fun and enjoy it.
by Christo on 2006-10-08 07:59:12

Yeah DaraLynn, earlier, people identified it as Enochian. There's lots of info out there about it, including much posted under other videos.
by Zach on 2006-10-08 08:00:29

DaraLynnie (comment #281) I couldn't say it better. I think you are right. Bree considers her religion sacred not secret. I can see why she kept her religion from us. I mean, we don't know what her religion is for sure and people are ridiculing the heck out of it. Anyway, since Daniel asked us what we think he should do...I think you should just appoligize to her. Tell her that you are sorry for making Bree choose between her religion and you. From the looks of this vlog, you never asked her about her religion during the TWO years you were friends with her. It tells me that you don't really care about who Bree really is. Her religion is such a huge part of her life...and you didn't know JACK about it. What is up with that? But seriously, appoligize like crazy. Tell her you had no right to make her choose between you and her religion. Tell her that you don't know what her religion is all about and it's your ignorance about it that made you worry for her safety. Ask her to give you another chance. TELL HER THAT YOU LOVE HER! GROVEL LIKE CRAZY! We want to see you two become friends (or even better) again. We want to see silly vlogs about proving science wrong and another music video...PLEASE BECOME FRIENDS AGAIN!
by Penny on 2006-10-08 08:06:28

Susie, I can do your laundry but I don't Iron. What's this about an alphabet Bree practices, is there a new video?
by Joe on 2006-10-08 08:48:14

#299 Joe check “The Equinox” episode. That's where she has PMonkey and Thor hold up flash cards with enochian letters on them, so she can 'study" for the ceremony.
by Zach on 2006-10-08 08:57:56

I wonder how far in advance the episodes are taped, or if the writers/creators really do read the forum here and on YouTube and let that shape the way the story line goes. I hope it's the latter case.
by annie on 2006-10-08 09:00:29

ooohhhhh first time i seen this but i like it still even though i know its fake
by sophiemich on 2006-10-08 09:20:36

Thanks Zach, I completely missed that episode. I always thought the video after that one ("How could you") was Daniel pissed about the fight in "Learning to drive" and we just missed the rest of the fight. So Daniel got pissed because she blew him off to go somewhere with her parents. What an A hole. So she wants to spend time with the family, that's a good thing. Unless your parents want to sacrifice you in a cult ritual :)
by Joe on 2006-10-08 10:40:33

I decided to do a bit more research, my curiosity about the ceremony is taking over, I think.. Presupposing that she IS or will be a member of OTO.. the first step or initiation is Minerval. http://oto-usa.org/init.html More info on what that means and includes is found here: http://www.scarletwoman.org/aboutus_minerval.html The only prob I can see is that someone needs to be 18.. but I'm guessing rules can be changed to suit the story line if that's the way they're going!
by jc_gypsy7 on 2006-10-08 10:55:29

well you should definetly stop stalking her. if that's what she wants. But maybe post message just to her, since you can't speak to her. Saying you are doing it beacuse you are worried. It's the only want you can know what's going on.
by Lindsey on 2006-10-08 11:02:32

re: 307 - i doubt it's any kind of initiation ceremony. the way bree talks about it is as if it is some particularly special ceremony which only happens once in a blue moon - metaphorically! i.e. haleys comet is only once every so often! so something more special and not something anyone can do such as an initiation.. especially as she's already a member!
by adrienne on 2006-10-08 11:08:32

It seems there are two distinct schools of thought on Aleister Crowley one that he is the evilest man who ever lived and the other that he was a mystic prophet, and on the web there is ample evidence for both view points. Many of the websites that critisize Crowley and Thelema seem biased, either they are Christian prejudiced or else they are anti-cult activists, and at least one took a compiratorial view of all mytical societys Free Mason, Rosicutian, O.T.O etc.
by robtomorrow on 2006-10-08 11:10:52

Don't like this cult stuff. Can't be just go back to "Proving Science Wrong" and have Daniel read a magazine on Bree's bed again? That was so much better!
by Pineapple on 2006-10-08 11:19:53

robtomorrow (310) Within the O.T.O. itself there are two -- or actually three -- distinct schools of thought about Crowley.
by otter on 2006-10-08 11:27:24

It is interesting that the Creators are focusing on a mystical society, when the current conflicts in culture seem to be between competing forms of religious fundamentalism on the one hand and secularism and materialism (the belief that there is a natural explanation for everything that exits in the universe, science) Mystical societies have a long history though, even though many Americans believe the U.S.A was founded on Christianity it would be as true to say it was founded on Freemasonry as many of the Founding Fathers were Freemasons including George Washington. The Pyramid and Eye on the dollar bill is a Free-masonic symbol.
by robtomorrow on 2006-10-08 11:29:37

To engaged to be married: Duh. Everybody knows the conflict that Jesus had with the Jews. It was those Jewish pharasises that had him crucified.
by Irie Little Lizzie on 2006-10-08 11:31:08

Now I'm even more curious, lol, between us all a lot of research has been done and not one thing fits completely into place.. which takes us back to will they use a valid religion or just make one up to suit the story line?
by jc_gypsy7 on 2006-10-08 11:37:01

jc_gypsy7 (307) those are good sites you posted links to! If you want to better understand the table of intitiations there, you can overlay them on teh Tree of Life, i.e. the Minerval corresponds to Malkuth, the first Sephiroth on the Tree of Life. But I agree with adrienne (309) that it's not an initiation becasue of what Bree said earlier. Thanks for that reminder adrienne! It may have something to do with work regarding the Maat Aeon -- here's some info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeon_(Thelema), and http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:43NKaim7CJUJ:www.lashtal.com/nuke/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-1138-view-previous.phtml+maat+aeon&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=3 Or maybe it is something the creators/writers have made up, and added Thelemic overtomnes to spice it up.
by otter on 2006-10-08 11:38:57

That first link should include "(Thelema)" as part of the hyperlink -- sorry! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeon_(Thelema)
by otter on 2006-10-08 11:40:40

Another thought.. if you go back to Me, Religiion and Daniel.. which I just did since something wsas poking at my memory about that.. Daniel is the one coming up with the fears and odd thoughts about the ceremony and her religion, not Bree. (She did have a little bit of trepidation about it, but not much.) My question is why is he automatically assuming this has to be a bad or scary or possibly dangerous thing? All religions have cermonies, usually promoting spiritual awareness and growth, or a change of status w/i the religion itself. Could it be that he has no real religious ties, and therefore is assuming the worst, that it is somehow satanic in nature out of ignorance?
by jc_gypsy7 on 2006-10-08 11:47:32

robtomorrow (313) that IS a really good point. you know? without taking a total tangent here (it does kind of relate), astrologers were predicting taht when Pluto went into the sign of Scorpio some of the cultural shifts would show up as a tatoos and piercings and tatoos becoming mainstreamed, and there being a lot of exhibitionistic sexuality. Now Pluto is in Sagittarius, which is all about, among other things, philosophies and religion and the savior/warrior -- some astrologers predicted "culture wars" ands major conflicts between philosophies and ideologies (your mention of "mystical societies" made me think of this). I don't give a lot of weight to astology, but there is some validity... and to astologers, Pluto has long meant societal or population-wide trends, influences and shifts... But what about now that it is not a planet? :)
by otter on 2006-10-08 11:51:33

wow, great link, otter, thanks so much! I'm going to go back there and read further, that's interesting stuff! and adrienne, yes, a thank you to you as well.. tho all the steps are considered an 'initiation'.. (no clue why!)
by jc_gypsy7 on 2006-10-08 11:56:13

#319 jc_gypsy7 you brought up a very good question and that sent me back to watch some of teh early episode. Watch “My Parents Suck…” where Bree says they didn't ;et her go to Daniel's graduation party and they said that she couldn't go hiking with him (even though they later relented). Do you think that maybe it's easier for Daniel to blame it on her religion than to just accept that her parents do not approve of his friendship with their daughter? Maybe that's the deep down fear he has.

Otter- I think it's a combination of your idea that it's easier for him to rationalize things that way.. and Jamie's, (post # 18)... that people fear the unknown in most cases, even when there's nothing to indicate that there should be any concern. Tho I do disagree with her in one point.. I do think Bree is naive in a social sense.

#319 jc-gypsy "My question is why is he automatically assuming this has to be a bad or scary or possibly dangerous thing? All religions have cermonies, usually promoting spiritual awareness and growth, or a change of status w/i the religion itself." THANK YOU! You completely validated what I said in #281. All religions have things that, to an outsider who knows nothing abut it, may seem weird, strange, different and to some dangerous. (Espcially if that person is looking in the wrong places trying to figure things out) Bree's ceremony is weird, only because we either believe differently or never heard of the things she does. To me some of the rituals in the Jewish or Catholic faith are "weird" and that is only because I don't understand the meanings behind them, but to you the Catholic or you the Jew, these are SACRED and IMPORTANT rituals. But if I were to look something up from a random site I might find someone trying to discredit the ceremony/ritual because they can. See what I mean? Now Daniel, you asked what you should do. Apolgise, and if she doesnt accept that then you need to TAIL HER EVERY MOVE!!! I have a feeling that she will be taken out of her home before the ceremony, espcially if Lucy knows that you are tailing the two of them at every turn. Pack a cooler of cokes and peanut butter sandwiches and wait for Bree to leave. Follow her to Lucy's home, doctor's offices (get picture of the door so maybe we know exactly where she is going and what treatments she may be receiving) every where they go you should also be. Try to sneak into the ceremony, and KEEP US POSTED!! DaraLynnie

dude right now idont know why but i m totally hooked on all this ...............i feel better that bree is actually only 3 days older than me than 3 years younger
by Evan on 2006-10-08 14:07:20

Daralynnie, I knew it was only a matter of time before you got addicted to posting here...and I agree with all you said about the religion thing. As far as Daniel following her, why do you think he should follow her still? I thought we were in agreement that it was an initiation ceramony and she wasn't in any danger. I guess it would be cool to get some footage on where the ceremony might be. I wonder if the ceremony will be outside or if they have some sort of temple where they do their rituals and ceremonies? I guess we will see soon enough...
by Penny on 2006-10-08 14:27:40

Daniel, I hear you. I know someone who got stuck in a cult once. And a bunch of us track her down and kidnapped her. One year later she told us how much she appreciate us for sticking with her. She was with the moonies. Obviously you see something beautiful in Bree, I hope that is enough to keep you faithful to her despite how you feel about her religion and father. I hope the writer will give you something to say to Bree, because snooping around is not working for your relationship. I think a good conversation where you have a chance to affirm the positive things in Bree will help her to be more forgiving. After all you are the normal one and she is the one in a cult, and brainwashed.

by Zach on 2006-10-08 16:12:28

After look around, it seems that Bree would be involved in some descendant cult of the Goddess Hathor, except that it is the VERNAL Equinox that is is held in high regard, not the Autumnal. However, ever several thousand years there is SOME sort of celestial alignment,I have not been able to determine precisely what except it has something to do with the constellation that we call Leo and the Vernal Equinox, that heralds in a special age for Hathor. It lasts until another such alignment and then the cycle repeats. Due to slight variations in celestial movements and the massive amount of time these movements take it is difficult to find any material recording a cycle. However the language that Lonelygirl15 is studying is clearly Ptolemaic Demotic, a form of Egyptian. Most likely what Daniel describes is how her religion bastardized the language due to its relative completixty and the lack of sources readily available to teach it (hence the memorization of the symbols and souns they make, but probably not the words). The biggest note s they she is going to, msot likely, celebrate the Autumnal equilux, the ACTUAL day when light is 12 hours. The day of the equilux is known to move from year to year and only rarely is exactly 12 hours. This would account for the "rare" occurence of the ritual.

by abcdefg on 2006-10-10 08:19:27

Ok this is crazy, some one explain to me why Brea’s world should revolve around Daniel. I do admit that Brae is a little over protective and touchy about her religion, but how wouldn't be if there was someone like Daniel who is supposed to be her friend turning around and saying nasty things about it. Daniel is being a prick, I mean I think it's fine if he researches her religion to understand it better but honestly, he's just being immature. I mean look at this from Brea’s perspective she's being fallowed, Daniel is Stocking her! Ummm creepy? and when she gets pissed off at him about this he totally discarders everything she says. When he should have turned around and apologized. And as far as the whole 'Cult' thing goes, it's just a religion based on enchant beliefs just like every other religion. Daniel is just being bitter because he feels abandon by his hart throb.

Daniel, You state that this ties in with ancient Egypt. The heiroglphys at the beginning of Episode 46c would back that up. The problem is the Enochian Language Bree is learning. It has nothing to do with Egypt. Before John Dee "discovered" this language is was supposed to have been used by Adam to name all the creatures. Supposedly the last to speak it was Enoch, hence way it is called Enochian. For more info go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enochian
