| I posted this over at youtube as well, sorry...
Hey, is anyone participating in the LOST Experience game going on this summer? I haven't been following the lonelygirl posts since day one, but this seems kinda similar to that. Is there anyone talking about it from that perspective? Where you start with the understanding that it's staged (but don't hate it because it's staged) and then suspend your disbelief and start looking for clues in it. ...discussing it as if it were real even though on some level you know it's not? It seems like most people are lining up on either the "this is completely real" side or the "this is fake and I hate it" side. How about a "this is a new type of interactive entertainment that I find very interesting" side. If anyone knows where people are discussing it from that angle, could you send me a message? Of if anyone is interested in discussing it from that angle, I'd be happy to start a group or message board somewhere. I think there's a very interesting plot developing, and I don't want to get bogged down in the "real or not" argument.
johnny_panic13@yahoo.com by Johnny Panic13 on 2006-09-01 10:01:30 Johnny I must disagree with your assertion that the camps are either the "this is completely real†side or the “this is fake and I hate it†side. While there are always the stupid haters at youtube, when you discount them I think you are left with the naive "oh this is all real I love following the drama 'you go Bree!'" camp and the "yes we know its fake but we love it and want to know more about it" camp. So I think those fall into your category of this is an interesting new media etc. camp. Whatever it is, it's incredible and the most amazing thing I've seen on-line. P.S.- Bukanator, I'm a big fan!! E-mail me!! by HyeMew on 2006-09-02 18:14:12 10, 12, 06 ... So what happens on October 12? (Or December 10?) by Ben Werdmuller on 2006-09-03 04:49:02 The video version of my article is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovYBruHqwz4 Sorry, Portuguese only. But you can read the English text in English here: http://www.mariopersona.com.br/blog/archives/00000167.htm In the article I talk more about the marketing side of what is going on, with a focus on Gidol ou www.googleidol.com and how new talents (like Bree, Brookers and others) are changing the way we watch things. by Mario Persona on 2006-09-03 05:32:50 This whole thing is a put on, probably to promote some upcoming movie or TV show. Even this website is a fake, if this site truly was a "Tribute to Lonelygirl15" and a true fansite, then tell me, why was the domain registered over a month *before* the first lonelygirl15 video was posted on YouTube? I think this site belongs to whoever is behind this whole promotion. by Mike on 2006-09-03 09:27:05 Everyone knows that "Cayenne Pepper" is satanic cult code talk for babies blood. My warlock days are alittle hazy, but I think I remember making "Virgin Pancakes". by KingKook on 2006-09-03 11:02:39 Mike, "then tell me, why was the domain registered over a month *before* the first lonelygirl15 video was posted on YouTube?". It wasn't. It was less than a month. First video was May 24. by brendel99 on 2006-09-04 04:42:24 Buk, Why was this site registered on May 12th, the same day her MySpace account and Yahoo email address were created? Also, what happened to your blog? It hasn't been updated in nearly a month. by Mr. Grieves on 2006-09-04 11:54:48 thanks HyeMew, I've been reading more of the comments here and I think you're right. There's just a lot of "other stuff" to wade through. And the crowd here is better than the youtube crowd, for sure. No matter which way this turns out, I agree that it raises the bar for online entertainment. by Johnny Panic13 on 2006-09-05 07:37:10 who actually "bakes" cookies on the bedroom floor? it doesn't look like they actually did any mixing or baking... by cookiemonster on 2006-09-06 14:46:40 Is there any chance the recipes could be posted. You know, in case there are clues and certainly not because I want to make cookies. Clues! 10.12.06 by Xen on 2006-09-08 22:28:48 omg, fake! firstly, you dont make cookies in your bedroom...secondly, her shirt was magically clean after they made them...she got flour or something on it...now thats obvious, shes an actress, she cant film in a flour-covered top now can she? by fakegirl15 on 2006-09-09 10:48:10 I would also like to add - Cayenne pepper is extremely hot, in it's ground state it's dangerous when inhaled, and in it's whole form is danger to mucous membranes such as the nose and eyes. If preserving the pepper, keep mouth and nose covered--even the fumes carry a whollup--and wear gloves! The capsaicin is what causes your mouth and eyes to water and burn when you've bitten into a cayenne pepper. If this happens, immediately drink a glass of milk, which has a neutralizing ingredient in it. Water will heighten the burning sensation. by fakegirl15 on 2006-09-09 10:54:40 The scores she gave the cookies are, in fact, clues. Alesiter Crowley, the English occultist she has a picture of in her room (with candles under it) was born on October 12, 1875. 10.12.06 Notice how she used "06" instead of just "6". 06 obviously refers to this year. It's another clever clue that the creators of this "show" hid in the script. by jd87 on 2006-09-13 20:58:12 10-12-06 is Aleister Crowley's birthday this year...scary cult people lol..notice it says 06 and not just 6 by ryan on 2006-09-13 22:50:52 Isn't interesting that in the debate of realness vs. fakeness of this video project, no one questioned the use of copyrighted music? Any amateur using copyrighted music is usually met with a controversy over the use of said music when the amateur starts getting lots of attention from the public. Sometimes the amateurs get slapped cease and desist way before they become "popular." Despite all the "hype," it seems a lot of people - from the producers to the viewers - have had fun creating the Internet star "Lonelygirl15." And all I have to say is... WOW! Good work. by deb on 2006-09-16 08:58:42 My God people ... first of all, "Deb", the whole point of these videos is to promote unknown bands. That`s why in every youtube video, they list the band name, song name and website or myspace account of the music they use. Second, yes, it is staged. Get over the debate. It`s just like any other tv show. It has a script. And writers. But they improv. IMO it doesn`t take anything away from it. I love the character of 'Bree'. Third, i can`t believe you guys are so observant enough to notice or even think that there are hidden "clues" in the videos. Or how in the hell anyone even knew when Alesiter Crowley's birthday was. Geeze. by Jamie on 2006-09-18 00:34:04 dude.... those cookies dont look like they were made... they look like they were bought.... wtf? u cant make them PERFECT like tht.... and who makes cookies in their bedroom floor??? no1! by Lilly3222 on 2006-10-01 14:23:43 Nice to see that advert at the end there.classy by Glasgow on 2006-10-15 11:31:04 so i notice you only cover one of the purple monkey's ears (the left one) when you try to keep him from hearing what your saying. Why does the other ear not matter? Is his right ear deaf? by Haley the glass of grape juice on 2006-10-20 01:51:08 i am confused are you for real or not and why you are posting these videos to youtube? by lidtu on 2006-10-28 10:51:05 Ok people this is really pathetic...stop dissecting everything in these videos!!!! It's pure entertainment...ok yeah maybe they're promoting stuff...but who cares???? 10-12-06...OMG it's someone's freaking birthday...omg yeah that's my dog's death anniversary (for real)!!!! big freakin deal it means nothing... by F-Bomb on 2006-10-28 20:53:53 i must say, bree is very lucky. a good actress, pretty, non-annoying voice, and she knows how to act childish. i want to meet her. goysh... by Name? on 2006-10-30 21:05:32 Bree; you are cool...a breath of sweet fresh air! I have to find him he saved me and I have to save him plz! Mally... by Mally on 2006-11-18 23:16:53 F-Bomb, Shut up! I don't understand why people continue to watch these videos if they hate it so much. If the videos are SOOO pathetic, then why do you bother watching? Losers. by Nadia143 on 2007-03-31 12:17:48 hi exellent by site on 2007-07-31 22:14:13 10/12/06 was the date of the fake ceremomy. yupp by MarysCool on 2007-08-02 08:18:54 hello great post by link on 2007-10-09 10:18:01 there wasn't another cookie contest =( -crys- by Sabrina on 2007-10-20 16:21:04 hi great post by site on 2007-11-10 17:51:21 F-Bomb maybe you should watch the ENTIRE series before making statements like this, because this date actually does mean something. by shauna11 on 2007-12-21 10:03:53 i love that cat thing she does when she mentions chocolate chip cookies MEEP! by bellakins11214 on 2007-12-22 08:46:28 |
