If I remember correctly, Bravo used to do this as a brand to some extent. This is a large portion of what internet entertainment is about - about pushing the mold in terms of what is entertaining. I haven’t seen any effort to provide this type of entertainment or ability to stretch or innovate from a production level through Joost. Part of the appeal of the internet is that the user is not spoon fed content - they have to search for it and in some instances create it. I really see so much untapped potential here. I’m glad that there is a company out there now who is putting effort into the field from a more technical approach, but I’m hoping that they will miss out on these other areas of content development opportunities.They have a saying: “Dj’s are not rockstars.” But aren’t they? Stars are only what a culture deems as such and internet users have the ability and opportunity to exploit fame and fortune just as much as Lindsay Lohan if the proper channels are provided for them. Internet fame is the new reality television show - wait, that was so last year. So Joost, who is going to be famous this year? I think that that is a valid question to be asking at this point. Hopefully Joost will be able to provide the opportunity and answer to that question in the future. That may be a whole nother can of worms though.
