Was she looking at me and smacking her lips? I called the New York State Wildlife Office, and they told me to soak rags in bleach, and throw them in. They said bears don't like that, and she would leave. Wow! Sounds simple enough. So I did as told. I went out several hours later, peered in, and -- She was still there! Apparently, no one ever informed her that bears don't like the smell of rags soaked in bleach. Oh well -- I'll call them again tomorrow to see what other bright ideas they might have.
