Props to the Forum... and props to me for using the word props in a sentence. theorys on what the 4 symbols mean perhaps their all subdivisions of the order. Opaphid is one part and each symbol represents another facet of the overall religion/order. I'm talking about the image with the four symbols on each corner of the page. for that picture, it looks like who ever did the photoshopping tried to make it look like the page was torn and reattached back together. Notice the missing piece in the centre. maybee the four corners are all equal followers of the missing symbol in the centre. the symbol or whatever is supposed to be in the centre may be either a organization( the order ), a person (bree[I'll come back to that]), or a single important event ( The ritual ). if its the order, then were back to the mystic cult/society that has infinite resources and limitless power. if its a person, and specificley bree... then maybee whatever bree represents to them is something important that they worship. Bree already said they go for girls with special chracteristics, I'm avoiding the super power theory as thats just to out there even for this show. The order doesnt have to keep bree alive because they have a respect for her, I'm thinking along the lines of a masiah sacrifice thing. if its a event, then maybee the four symbols are four seperate divisions of the religion (i.e. baptist, protestant, catholic... blah blah) but they all revolve around this singular event ( the ceremony) which gives their religions meaning. ( maybee some equinox sacrificial purification deally) you might all be asking, why is he making it sound like bree would die if she goes through with it... for all we know she'll be alright. technicly thats true, but if it were, that would pretty much suck for the series as I see the creators tryign to get this show to go on as long as they can, and having bree's life be at stake of dieing gives her a purpose to fight the order. personally that would ruin the series for me if all she ever had to do was walk a straight line and read some symbols. well those are my theors basicly... I wont go into more detail as that would basicly involve me writing a LG15 bible. Obviously knowing who the guy was ahead of time. the point of all this is if it was gemma who gave bree all the information they now base what they know of the order on, then why aren't the characters questioning what she told them, I mena she basicly steared everyone away fromt he denderah theory, and the thelma whatcha ma call its. admitedly I wasn't too fond of that plot point but you'd think they'd do some research on it. And bree specificly named denderah or whatever, I think If I was jonas and Daniel... or tachyon even, I'd sit Bree down, and interrogate her for all the information she was ever given, what holidays she celebrated, what she called her religion, did she have a bible she read, where did the deacons do there deaconing, everything. She'll probably get grouchy or something and say she should be setting up trip wires or someting(snorts)... but really if they dont talk about it now, when they atleast have some privacy( we hope ) then when are they going to talk about it. Non-school life... Department of Homeland Security, intelligence analysis, public safety and homeland security planning, things like that. It's tough right now because all of the budgets are going to the military, so very few of the agencies I'd like to work for are doing any hiring. You should definitely look into the public health thing though, I know from my own studies that agriculture is a HUGE weakness in DHS planning. by Perky on 2007-02-25 22:43:49 Perky, I guess it makes sense that the budget goes to the military right now, but you'd think more emphasis would be put on such things as public safety.
