Although it was pretty odd--I agree with you all, the music had a sense of foreboding and didn't fit with the video at all...seems like something bad is about to happen.

My happiness was short-lived, however, when I saw there was another new Jonas video.  I was hoping it wasn't true, but it's now so painfully obvious he's canon. :(  Everyone knows Bree is not a real person by now, but Jonas addresses her like she is.  

I don't know why he's bothering me so much, but I guess it's because I totally don't see how he's going to fit into this series and it makes me very depressed.  The creators obviously tried to make him 'deeper' in this one, but it all just seems contrived.  So what, his parents died and left him a boatload of money so he lives in a huge house by himself?  Not like the current B/D storyline is exactly realistic, but it seems pretty farfetched that he'd be allowed to live as a teen (they died several years ago) in a big house by himself.

I don't know, he just rubs me the wrong way.  I hope they decide not to add him to the series, but if they do, I hope it's a very minor role.  Like I've said before, nothing personal against the actor or anything, but I just don't think he fits in here.  I said this yesterday, but part of Bree and Daniel's charm is that they look and act like real people. People have already mentioned the obvious reference to the movie Fur.  The full title is "Fur:  An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus."  I think the "imaginary" part is key.  Apparently the movie takes some real parts of Arbus' life and creates a fictional storyline...sort of a representative hommage.  I think this could mean three things
a.)  This installment is a symbolic one (duh).  Bree is painting a fictional account of what happened that day, but some truth as to what's really going on lies within it
b.)  The writers are self-referencing themselves and the whole lonelygirl15 thing.  It's an imagined reality.  And according to the movie's website, Arbus was a groundbreaking photographer--what the lonelygirl creators have done is a groundbreaking form of blurring fiction and reality and getting it to an audience
c.)  Maybe we've seen the first lonelygirl world product placement--Joe/156 :)

If everything in this video is representative, then I think we have to dissect the other movies she mentions as well.  The Guardian and The Gridiron Gang came out in September, so I think it's unlikely she really saw them now.  (It's possible if she went to the cheap movies that have stuff a couple months after they come out, but all the other movie posters were for ones that were current/haven't come out yet, so I doubt it.)  And I think her character is one that wouldn't pay for only one movie and then watch three without feeling really guilty--more than just a cute "is that wrong?"

So the Guardian.  Honestly, I didn't remember what it was, so I looked it up on Yahoo! Movies.  Here's how it describes it (sorry, this is SUPER long).

"After losing his crew in a fatal crash, legendary Rescue Swimmer, Ben Randall, is sent to teach at "A" School, an elite training program for Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers. Maybe Daniel has ALREADY been kidnapped.  If she were to return to the room and find him gone, it makes less sense that she would then grab a video camera and turn it on to film the empty room--However, perhaps he has already disappeared and now she's leaving this tape as a clue.  As we saw in that "Breakfast in Bed" video, occasionally he did leave the hotel alone to get food or whatever.  He could have gone out and then gotten caught by a guy/woman in a black suit, or by Jonas's parents, or by an alien spaceship.

Maybe we're thinking a little too old school  by assuming that it's Daniel who has to always protect Bree.  Maybe it's up to her to rescue him for once. 

Or maybe she has to enlist the help of other in the upcoming "war" (long war movie).  There could be other people at risk here, like her parents and who knows who else, and she has to do something heroic "so others may live" like in the Guardian.

And maybe a water theme is being introduced.....The Guardian, a long shot of the fountain, Jonas' parents (assuming he's part of this...which I really think he is, if not, I'm sorry!).......And the name Jonas is related to Jonah, as in the person who got swallowed by a fish in the Old Testament.

As for the Gridiron Gang, I'm not sure sure what that's alluding to.  Could be an "overcoming obstacles" thing or a "banding together with people yet to be announced--or the viewer??" thing, but I really have no idea.  Anyone have any ideas?

i just watched the jonas vlog.

i am now thouroughly convinced he is part of the plot.
i am also thouroughly convinced that the creators need to hire writers for him that do at least half as much research as their fans. at least HALF as much, and it would be decent.

"lost at sea"... that term sounds very hollywood.
now here's what i gathered from his vid. 

he says 6 years ago they disappeared. which would have made him about 13 years old. 
ONE; why didn't he go with them at that age? my parents always take us on big trips. how would it have been safe for him to stay home? 
TWO; after they disappeared, him being only 13, how was he not taken over by social services? he would have been in a home. even assuming he somehow fell through the cracks with his abrupt "orphanism" his money would have ran out. they would have noticed him not being in school... it's illegal to miss school at that age. and he wouldn't have been able to feed/take care of himself i bet. parents are more useful than we notice for just practical things. especially if you're 13.

ok. beside THAT there is no sailing background with this kid. his parents were planning on sailing AROUND the 140 longitude? *blink* that's... um... yeah, that's impossible. the 140 longitude (west or east) doesn't GO all the way around. it starts at a pole and goes vertically until it reaches the other pole. and then stops. if they were to, oh, i don't know, sail THROUGH the ICE past one of the poles, they would be on a different longitude altogether... probably around 60 or 70 east longitude. and coordinants are usually given latitude first anyways (latitudes are the ones that go horizontally... ie; AROUND).

ok. but lets say they were trying to sail along a longitude (besides the whole.. you know, obstacle of northern america/canada that would eventually be in their way. and the massive amounts of food, the expensive water and energy-making gear they would have to bring along since the only time they would see land would be... Antarctica, Oceania,run smack into canada/alaska, and then the arctic. between them, VAST periods of no land in sight ever. and no places to restock on food, water, other supplies or to throw any garbage out. hope it's a big boat with a LOT of storage). 

i'm assuming it's the west 140 longitude, because i think he said they hit a storm (not in those words) up near Humbolt county, which is in northern california, i believe. unless there's a humbolt county in asia or australia. 

k. assuming it's west in CA, they would have been EXTREMELY far out there. like... near 2,000 miles out. that distress call... what? picked up by humbolt county ranger station? they sent a helocopter and the coast guard? they weren't near the coast. 

as for it being a "shot in the dark"... well, if his dad had been sailing his whole life, he presumadely knew navigation (especially if he's planning a big sailing trip) and would have known to give the proper coordinates for rescue. including lat. which would pretty much pinpoint where they were. so... 100 mile range? i doubt it. also, not only is a GPS a safety precaution, it's a hell of a lot easier to have one. and guys... at least many of those i know... love hi-tech toys. i'm betting his dad would already have owned some sort of GPS device, and if he didn't he would have jumped on the chance to get a sat nav if his wife was encouraging it. *shrug*

I don't mean to rag on the guy, but there's just something about him that rubs me the wrong way.

Perhaps one of the things that rubs me the wrong way is that there's no excuse for him to be bored or lonely.  If he inherited money when his parents disappeared at sea, he could use his time and money to volunteer to help others, you know, like kids.  He would meet people through volunteer work and have new friends so he wouldn't be lonely.  Is he just sitting around in the big house with money and not even doing anything to help others?

I guess it's just me, but I have a real strong work ethic and if someone just sits around and feels sorry for themselves for being lonely, refusing to get a job, refusing to get educated and not doing any kind of volunteer work, that just rubs me the wrong way.  He's not doing anything to contribute to society and he's got lots of time on his hands and money.  So what does he do, he sits around feeling lonely and sorry for himself and makes silly videos and posts them on the Internet.

Hey, Bruce Wayne used his loneliness and money to fight crime, save people and give back to society.  He didn't sit around in his mansion being lonely and feeling sorry for himself, wasting time making silly videos.

Regardless if Jonas is a real person or an actor with the LG15 series, he just rubs me the wrong way.

Someone else commented about him living alone as an orphan (sorry can't remember which post it was).  Perhaps Jonas is older than he looks.  If he's 23 now and his parents disappeared when he was 18, then yes, he would have been legally allowed to live alone at the time his parents disappeared.  However, if he was orphaned before the age of 18, I don't think authorities would have allowed him to live alone.  He would have had to go to a relative's home or be put in foster care.  He mentioned Humboldt County, that's in California and I think the law/authorities wouldn't allow a minor to live by himself, especially if he inherited a lot of money.  Someone would be appointed guardian and manage the money on his behalf.  If he did not have a relative that could do it, the court would have appointed him a guardian.

So, this makes me think he was over 18 at the time his parents disappeared at sea.

Here's a thought...suppose Jonas is an actor with LG15, maybe his role is to be some kind of super hero like Bruce Wayne to save Bree, Daniel and her parents from the evil cult people.

by the way, when all the characters keep telling bree to make up, and give daniel a break, and stop fighting and being mad it really makes me suspicious. especially when DANIEL is the one mad at HER. it makes me wonder why they're so concerned.

another thing. how far is jonas in the bree storyline? he seems to know she's on the run, away from her family and fighting with daniel... but bree's "longitude" set him off... and that one was waaaay back there. and he's only been on youtube for a couple of days, right? hmmm

as for bree's video... i have to watch it again. i didn't see any of those things the first time. people have been telling her to get out of the house and watch movies. i think it out of character for daniel to let her go alone, but she could have just gone while he was napping or something. i think this could have been a perfect opportunity for daniel to have another video without bree around, telling us his thoughts. i'm surprised she's allowed to bring a camera into the movie theater and film.

I agree with everyone the Jonas storyline doesn't fit.  The creators, I'm sure, realize they have some dedicated fans who investigate and research so the parts in Jonas story that don't make sense might be done on purpose...just a thought.

Also, Bree having a camera in the movie was a good point, that is not allowed but if she is at a theatre that you can get away with sneaking into other movies they might not be very strict with the rules.  
If Daniel and Bree are fighting I still think he cares about her enough to go with her, you can still maintain the silent treatment during a movie.

How did Bree get to the movies?  She doesn't drive.
Where did she get P-Monkey's outfit from? Also - I have to say, I'm not surprised the episode didn't mention Turkey Day. It didn't mention Halloween either. I think the creators are trying to suspend time a little so that no matter when you watch them, the videos are relevent. Of course, then they could have just made it the summer so Daniel didn't have to miss film class. Why aren't they nicer to Daniel?? :(

Also, people are think that Jonas is fake because:

Well, I have to say from my own experience: You don't need a YouTube account to watch videos. I watched videos for a long time before making an account, and I didn't open an account until I had a first video ready since I thought it would be pretty lame to have a blank account for days. So...

Though personally, I hope Jonas is not part of the official storyline. He'd fun to watch, but I think adding more characters now would detract from the original storyline. They should focus more on developing Gemma, Bree, and Daniel instead.

 The movie itself is about a photographer that ends up committing suicide later. Cry of help from Bree? I hope not, considering the young audience. But Diane (the photographer) starts some sort of relationship with a guy upstairs, who stays covered up... but is later found to be "covered from head to toe in voluminous hair." Explaining the title of the movie. Could it also be a hint at DanielBEAST, or his new facial hair? It's also being referred to by a lot of people, as one poster above mentioned, as a "Beauty and the Beast" concept, and the directer has described it as such too, paired with Alice in Wonderland.

 Could she be telling us someone's nextdoor to them in the motel? That Daniel's changing and she wishes he'd remain "beastlike"? -- Or could it just be a hint at the reflection on the poster? It's just that it could've been any poster. There was a poster with a hamburger on it too -- she could've said P. Monkey doesn't like eating burgers or meat or something, if she were just trying to get us to look at a reflection. Why Fur? It leads me to wonder if we're supposed to look into the movie more too.

Good points on the whole nautical confusement, cheesy--I was going to look that up today, but you've already done it and confirmed my suspicions.  It didn't seem like a logical explanation of how his parents 'disappeared' and it really doesn't seem like he knows what he's talking about.

Z2A - I completely agree that if he indeed inherited all this money and lives alone in that house:  
a) He has to be either older than he says, or
b) Something is terribly wrong with social services if they allowed him to remain alone in that house alone at age 13
c) If he is that rich and doesn't have to work, it would be nice if he did something to help the community instead of sitting around all day  lol

Said guardian could have been anyone; a distant relative, a friend of the family, the butler . . . doesn't matter.  It's within the realm of the plausible that said guardian existed, but is now out of the picture, especially if said guardian and Jonas never really bonded.

Monkey was rushed to hospital after suffering a popcorn overdose.  Doctors for P.M has stated that P.M's codition is stable.   P.M's press agent claims that P.M will be attending popcorn anonymous after  release from hospital.

Who (other than me) would read all the way through 236 posts...  One thing for sure, all of us are taking this a lot more seriously than the Creators.  I say this because of all the looking- for-clues, reseach, speculation, seeing-things-that-aren't-there, posting, rewatching, pausing, more speculating, more posting...hours pass...  We are woring hard here folks!  Much harder than at our real jobs, or studies.  And what do we get in return?  A plot that does not seem to move on!!!! Superheroes lead a double life, their normal self, and their superself.  Who they really are is always a secret to those around them.

Secondly, Batman is one of the few superheroes without any innate powers.  He was just a regular guy who chose to defend Gotham.

Any ideas?

The music fits with the situation Bree is in right now. She's just wondering around the mall kind of. She's hanging out with P. Monkey but she's so isolated. I'm really tired. I just got back from a long trip and I'm having some trouble winding down, although I am EXHAUSTED!! I did read just about every comment (slightly compulsively!) and explored the info available on the movie, "Fur." 

My take on all this: Bree makes the best out of bad situations, always. Do you remember when she was on "house arrest," and she made lemonade out of the lemons? She's almost like a Tennesee Williams character, only she is stronger and less fragile.

Bree wears purple. P-Monkey is adorable with his sunglasses and popcorn. Bree is out having fun. She is not being "punished" by the silent treatment of Daniel.. anymore than her parent's "house arrest" really got her down.

Often, I think this to myself: "If I were told all my life I was the chosen one.. and then suddenly decided I did NOT want to be, what would my purpose in life be then?" Is there no grief for her lost purpose? 

Bree has depth. She just hides it behind juvenile play when she is really hurting most.

In the fur poster (upper left,) we see images of innocence. Wearing fur is like wearing clothing that doesn't really belong to you--it is really an another animal's skin. P Monkey doesn't want to do that. P Monkey could be a symbol for the part of Bree that is both innocent and genuine.

She's escaping. This whole "movie day" is pure escapism. I think people are chasing shadows and blurs like people on crack getting paranoid, honestly. Then again, I will look at the forum and what images have been magnified, etc. I saw nothing when I did it. It's like looking for the Loch Ness Monster. If she was really afraid, why would she go at all?
